We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. Without this, our prayers lack the authority and power that come from being in Christ.
Now, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ name to break every curse spoken, generational, or self-inflicted against these precious lives. The Word declares, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). We rebuke every assignment of darkness against them and command every curse to be nullified and rendered powerless in Jesus’ name. The blood of Jesus has already paid the price for their freedom, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
For the son mentioned here, we pray for a safe and godly release of excess weight, not by the world’s standards of vanity, but for the glory of God and the stewardship of the body He has entrusted. We ask the Lord to reveal any roots of emotional eating, past hurts, or ungodly soul ties that may be contributing to this struggle. The Word tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray for discipline, self-control, and a heart that seeks the Lord above all else.
We also lift up the deep wounds of the past. Father, we ask You to heal every broken place in this young man’s heart. Comfort him with Your presence and replace every lie of the enemy with Your truth. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We declare that he is not defined by his past, but by the identity Christ has given him as a beloved son of God.
Lord, we ask that You would surround this family with godly counsel and community. Protect their minds from the enemy’s deception and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth and freedom.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we declare these curses broken, these bodies healed, and these hearts restored. Amen.
