Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in agreement in the name of Jesus for this man and we thank you for your compassionate heart to intercede for him as one who has shown you kindness in renting his flat to you. It is beautiful that you recognize that he is also made in the image of God and that you desire to see him delivered and restored to the narrow path that leads to life.

We are encouraged by your understanding that God's thoughts and plans are far higher than ours, for as it is written, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11, and For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh Isaiah 55:8. We agree with you that the Lord longs to reveal His holy plan for this man's life and to show him his true identity in Christ. We know that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. When a person strays into sinful relationships and activities and follows his own desires, he takes on a false identity that can never satisfy, and only Jesus can break that deception and bring him back to who he was created to be.

We also agree with you in praying for deliverance from every ungodly influence and from the control, blackmail and danger you described. Scripture warns us plainly that evil companionships corrupt good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33 and to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14. Where there is sexual immorality outside of marriage, whether fornication or adultery, God calls it sin and calls all to flee from it, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We must speak clearly that any sexual relationship outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is sinful before God, and the relationship with the evil woman you mention, if it involves such immorality, manipulation and control, is not love but bondage. God desires to set him free, for if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36, and He has delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love Colossians 1:13. We pray that this man will come to the fear of the Lord, for The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10, and that this holy fear will give him understanding to depart from evil and to hate the sin that has ensnared him.

We pray together for him now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus, thanking You for the cross where Your holy Son suffered for all who believe. We lift up this dear man to You and ask You to open his eyes to see the clear and unmistakable truth of who he is in Christ. Break his stony heart and give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him as You have promised in Ezekiel 36:26. Soften his heart to hear Your voice and give him courage to enter by the narrow gate, for narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life Matthew 7:14. Lord, separate him from every ungodly influence, including those in his household, and expose the sinful and hateful relationships where he is controlled and blackmailed and where his life may be in danger. Let him recognize the depth of Your love that is steadfast and unfailing, and let him see the emptiness and destruction of the evil that has entangled him. Give him true repentance, that he may turn wholly from the evil woman and from all sexual immorality and walk in purity and holiness before You. Protect him physically and spiritually, deliver him from every snare of the enemy, and guide him into fellowship with godly believers who will strengthen him to walk uprightly. We ask that he would be restored to Your narrow path and live for Your glory. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and truth, to speak the gospel to him gently when the Lord opens the door, and to trust that God hears the prayers of those who agree together in Jesus' name. Keep praying that he will repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name, and keep entrusting him to the Lord who is able to deliver to the uttermost.

We were moved by how faithfully you are lifting your former landlord before the Lord. To keep praying for someone after the practical tie of a rental has ended, and to ask not just for relief but for clarity and freedom for him, shows real care.

What stayed with us is your prayer for his identity. Lasting change often comes as a person begins to see himself as God sees him, beloved and created for a different way of living, and that deeper understanding makes old patterns and harmful attachments lose their hold. We join you in asking God to give him that clear sight, a softened heart, and the courage to step away from influences that are controlling and harming him.

Because you mentioned concern that he may be controlled, blackmailed and even in danger, we encourage you to love him through prayer while keeping a healthy distance. You do not need to intervene directly in his household or try to manage those relationships for him, which is safest for both of you. If you have any contact and he is open, a simple, kind encouragement toward a trusted pastor or mature Christian support is enough. You can leave the work of conviction and deliverance in the Lord's hands and let prayer be your part. We are carrying this with you.

Father, we bring this man before you in Jesus name. You know his life, his struggles and the pressures around him. Give him eyes to see your love and truth, wisdom to recognize what is harming him, and protection and courage to turn toward what is good. Give our friend peace and steadiness as he continues to pray and trust you. Amen.

We join you at the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who suffered upon the cross for all who believe, and we thank God that you have brought this man before Him in prayer. The Lord knows him altogether and knows the plans of His own love toward him, which are far above our thoughts.

We pray that God will grant him not a superficial repentance which springs only from terror and touches merely the surface of the man, but that true repentance which is the fruit of Divine Grace and gives glory to God. Such repentance is not drawn up from the depths of our own heart as water from a well, but is worked in us by the Holy Spirit through belief of the truth, and it comes together with faith in Christ. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of, but that repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant and that faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart come into the soul together. May the Lord open his ears and seal instruction upon him, that He may withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him, and turn his heart to hate sin because it slew Christ and to love holiness.

We pray that he may look unto Christ and be saved, for that is all he has to do, to look out of himself and away from himself to what Christ has done. When a soul sensible of sin sees that Christ by His blood made atonement and throws himself upon that sacrifice of the cross, then sin is pardoned and the word goes forth, Deliver him from going down to the pit. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him. In Christ alone is salvation, and there is no other name by which we must be saved.

We ask the Father that He would deliver him from the power of darkness and translate him into the kingdom of His dear Son. Satan is the prince of the power of the air, and to escape from him is no small mercy, but it is so for every soul that is in Christ. May the Lord break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, give courage to walk in the narrow path, and grant understanding to fear His holy name and to depart from evil. We pray that He would separate him from ungodly influences and from every enticement that would hold him in bondage, and keep him from all relationships that are outside the holy ordinance of God, who ordained marriage to be the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and appointed that all intimacy and dwelling together in that union should belong within it. What is contrary to this is sin and brings no blessing, and we do not ask God to bless sin, but to save from it and to wash and to make clean.

We pray also for his preservation if his life is in danger through being controlled and threatened, that the Lord who can come in the fourth watch of the night when the soil slips from under our feet would rescue him to the praise of the glory of His grace, and set his feet upon the Rock.

O Lord, work in him true repentance and living faith, purge the soul from dead works and fill it with living works, and cause him to see his true identity not in the false names which sin gives, but in Christ, as a new creature. Let him hear Your voice, know the depth of Your love in the cross, and live to declare the works of the Lord. We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus, trusting that as we agree upon earth touching this thing, our Father heareth us. Amen.
