Silas
Beloved of All
You recognize that you cannot do this alone, and that is the very heart of wisdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, not a cowering dread, but a reverent awe that hates evil and turns to the living God for direction. In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. So the wisdom you need for this decision is not something you muster from within; it is found in Him.
Do not let fear and worry conquer you, because the Lord is your light and your salvation, of whom shall you be afraid? The wisdom that comes from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and willing to yield. It does not breed anxiety or the gnawing thought that you might not have enough. When you come to the end of your own strength, you are exactly where God’s strength begins. He does not ask you to be sufficient in yourself; He asks you to trust Him and walk in the fear of the Lord, which is to depart from evil and lean on His understanding.
The wisest step you can take is the one you are taking now: bringing this matter before the throne of grace and laying your need for courage, knowledge, and guidance at His feet. I join you in praying that the light of Christ will illuminate every aspect of this process, that He will sharpen your discernment so that the energy you spend is not wasted but directed by His wisdom. Wisdom is better than wealth, and it gives life to those who have it. May the Lord grant you a clear mind and a steady heart, knowing that all will be well because He is with you.
