Debt

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me to get out of debt and possibly get a second source of income. Thank you.

We hear your cry for financial freedom and provision, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The burden of debt can weigh heavily on the heart, but we know that our God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 37:21, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously." While debt itself is not a sin, the Bible does caution against the love of money and the dangers of financial bondage. We encourage you to seek wisdom in stewardship, as Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."

We also lift up your desire for a second source of income. God delights in the work of our hands when done with integrity and diligence. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Trust that the Lord will open doors of opportunity as you seek Him first.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You know the financial struggles this dear one is facing, and You see the weight of debt upon their heart. We ask that You would provide a way out, Lord, according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom in managing their finances, discipline in spending, and favor in finding additional income. Open doors that no man can shut, and grant them the strength to walk through them with faith.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in the name of Jesus. We declare that this one is not a servant to debt but a child of the Most High God, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. We speak abundance, provision, and financial breakthrough over their life. May they experience Your faithfulness as they trust in You, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake them.

We also pray for contentment and peace in this season. Guard their heart against anxiety and fear, reminding them that You are their Provider. Help them to seek You first in all things, and may their faith grow as they see Your hand move on their behalf. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Hold fast to the promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Keep your eyes on the Lord, and He will guide your steps. If you have not already, consider seeking godly counsel in budgeting and financial planning, as Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." You are not alone in this journey, God is with you, and so are we.

We know how heavy the weight of debt can feel, how it presses in on your thoughts and steals peace. Thank you for letting us carry this with you in prayer. Sometimes the most practical act of faith is taking a clear-eyed look at what we’re facing, so we can move forward with wisdom instead of anxiety. If you haven’t already, it might be time to sit down with a simple budget that shows exactly what’s coming in and going out. Even a rough plan on paper can reduce overwhelm and help you spot a few places to slow the bleeding.

Many communities have nonprofit consumer credit counseling services that can help you negotiate with creditors and set up a repayment plan at no or low cost. They don’t erase the debt, but they can give you a manageable path and some breathing room. And as you ask God for a second income, we’d encourage you to stay open to both conventional and less expected opportunities, perhaps something that uses skills you already have, or a side job that fits your current schedule without burning you out. God often provides through ordinary, steady steps.

We’re praying that you’ll find not just financial relief, but also the quiet assurance that you are not alone in this. Even when progress feels slow, your worth is not measured by a balance sheet.

Lord Jesus, you see the burden this person carries, and you care about every anxious thought. Please give them clarity about their finances, wisdom to make necessary changes, and favor in finding new streams of income. Replace fear with hope and help them take one faithful step at a time. We ask for your provision and peace, in your name. Amen.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand" (Isaiah 41:10)

I prayed with you for this, in Jesus' powerful Name, Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight".

You have brought your debt before us, and you ask for prayer. A trouble no sooner comes to me than I spread it before God and I find a sweet relief at once. Even this burden of debt, spread it before the mercy seat, for those who are the Lord’s know the way to the throne.

We do not know the numbers of God’s mercies to us, but we do know that every one of them comes to us by way of the Cross and bears the mark of the Redeemer’s blood upon it! Have you ever tried to count them? Then trust that He who gave His Son will with Him also freely give you all things. He has given commandment to save you, and His command is certain to be obeyed.

What if you feel lost in this distress? Yet still a piece of God’s precious silver, the house shall be swept for you and the candle lit, and you shall yet be found and put into the Savior’s treasury! God’s work that you shall see is work in yourself, work for yourself; He who has taught you from your youth will show you His wondrous works. He was chastened, but he was never cast out, he still continued as God’s pupil.

Yet beware of keeping back from God’s service the money which is necessary for the carrying on of the worship of His house, for that has been a snare to some. Above all, look to the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s dear Son, which cleanses us from all sin, and in Him find all your supply. I pray you may find peace, and then you are God’s beloved, and Heaven would not be complete without you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When you pray for relief from debt and a second source of income, examine first the root of the debt. Did it arise from making provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, from drunkenness, gluttonous living, pride in dress, or a soft and relaxed life? If so, prune away those things at once. Care for the body only with an eye toward health, not wantonness. As the Apostle says, make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires, yet he does not forbid honest provision for necessity. A little wine for Timothy’s stomach was counseled for health alone. So with your income: seek what suffices for true needs, and let all your industry be chiefly for spiritual things.

Consider the parable of the unforgiving servant. God remits a vast debt, yet men often take their fellows by the throat over trifling sums. If you desire your own debts to be forgiven by heaven, become mild toward any who owe you, and resist grasping after more than necessity. Those who oppress others for payment, or live always anxious over gain, thrust the sword into their own souls. Humble yourself before God, and feel thankful even to debtors, for they become an occasion to obtain abundant pardon when you show mercy.

Trust that the Lord who fed the multitude after three days in the wilderness, waiting until all their own provision was spent, knows your needs. Do not suppose He has forgotten you. Do what honest work you can, and if a second modest labor presents itself without kindling desire for luxury, receive it as from His hand. But flee anxiety about riches. The dreams of wealth fade, often before we depart this life, sometimes even before the day is done. Lay up treasure in heaven by almsgiving according to your means, and God will repay with increase.

You are carrying a heavy weight right now, and I want you to know that you are not alone. The burden of debt feels like a trap, a constant pressure that drains hope and keeps you awake at night. I understand the desire for a second source of income, the longing for some breathing room and a clear path forward. We will pray with you to that end, asking God to open a door and supply what is needed.

But as we pray, it is worth looking carefully at how so much weight piled up in the first place. So often we slip into debt because we have been promised fulfillment in something we can buy. A purchase is presented as the thing that will finally satisfy, but it never does. It only creates a deeper hunger. The borrower becomes a slave to the lender, and God sees that kind of oppression and hates it. Those things cannot quench the thirst in your spirit. They can only mask it for a moment, while the chains grow tighter.

God answers prayer. You have not because you ask not. So ask, and keep asking. Yet real freedom begins when you stop making provision for the desires that led you here. The Scriptures say, “Make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” That means taking concrete steps to cut off what feeds the cycle. Cancel the cards. Unsubscribe from the promises of ease and luxury. Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and let His Spirit reshape what you treasure. When God and His work are not your first priority, everything else tends to fall into disorder, even your finances. The hardship you feel may be a wake-up call to realign your heart.

Here is the hope: God has always made provision for people in their weakness. In the law, He left room for a leper to be cleansed miraculously. A man only needed to look at the bronze serpent to live. Those things made no medical sense; they were simply His appointed way. And His appointed way for you today is to look to Jesus Christ in faith. He is God’s one provision for your deepest need, the forgiveness of sins and a new heart that can find contentment in Him rather than in possessions. When that new birth happens, the grip of material things loosens.

So we will pray for God to provide a way out of this debt and possibly a second stream of income. But pray also for a clean heart and a hatred for the slavery that got you here. Trust Him to work where you cannot. He is not limited by your mistakes. Give Him room to do what only He can do, and then walk in the light of His priorities.
