We join you even now in thanking the Lord who has kept your daughter from the worst outcome of septic shock, for His goodness and grace have indeed preserved her. How kind is our God to spare and to sustain, and how right it is to give Him thanks.
We pray with you for her in this hour of fear and trembling before surgery. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not far away, it is whispers within through the blood of Jesus, and it may be enjoyed even when duties press and sorrows surge around. May the Lord stay her mind upon Himself, and may she know that peace which passes all understanding guarding her heart.
Anxiety unfits us to meet difficulty, but faith overcomes fear. We hear the gracious word, Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Let her cast every care, every panic and anxious thought upon Him who cares with a Father's care. And let her hear His own whisper, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God. Fear not, for I will help you. It is Jesus Himself who says, Fear not, and to obey that word is to find strength.
We ask the Great Physician to be present in that operating room, to guide the hands of the surgeons and to grant skill and wisdom for a smooth and successful surgery. He who has healing in His wings, whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations, can make even the least touch of Christ to be healing virtue to body and soul. May He breathe into her soul a deep sense of His presence and protection, that whether loved ones are near or far, she may know she is safe in Jesus keeping.
We pray the promises you have claimed over her, that He who is her keeper will not slumber, that He will cover her with His wings and be her refuge, and that He will deliver her from all evil, staying close by her side. May she be keenly aware that the Lord is at hand, that He has vanquished death and all its powers, and that earthly struggles shall soon give way to perfect peace in Him.
Father, grant comfort, remove panic, and let Your peace rule in her heart. Guide every hand that serves her, let all go well according to Your mercy, and restore her to health for Your glory. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Healer and our Peace, Amen.
