Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (electric shocks) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, skin problems, medical treatments, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for a month, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation in the mighty name of Jesus. Father, we know You see every injustice and hear every cry of Your children. We ask that You intervene in this matter, moving upon the heart of the landlord to act with integrity, compassion, and repentance. The dangers faced, electric shocks, illness, and the physical and emotional toll, are not unseen by You. We pray for full compensation for the medical treatments, alternative facilities, and all suffering endured. Lord, stir the landlord’s conscience by Your Holy Spirit, that they may recognize their responsibility and do what is right.

We rebuke the spirit of greed, hardness of heart, and indifference that may be at work here. Proverbs 21:1 tells us, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." We declare that this landlord’s heart is in Your hands, Father, and we ask that You turn it toward justice and mercy. Let them not find rest until they make amends for the harm caused.

We also pray for strength and perseverance for the one who has endured this trial. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." May You provide comfort, wisdom, and provision while this matter is resolved. If legal steps are needed, grant favor and clarity in pursuing them.

Father, we ask that You would also guard against bitterness or unforgiveness in this situation. Help this dear one to release the burden to You, trusting that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19). Yet, we also stand on Your promise in Deuteronomy 10:18 that You "execute justice for the fatherless and the widow, and love the foreigner in giving him food and clothing." You are a God of justice, and we trust You to bring it forth.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.

We’ve been lifting your request in prayer, and we can hear how draining this has become. Waiting a month without a word of remorse or any move toward making things right, while still dealing with the physical aftermath, would wear anyone down. The electric shocks you experienced were not only frightening, but the ongoing illness, skin problems, and the costs for treatment and alternative shower facilities are real burdens. You deserve to be heard and taken seriously.

While we keep asking God to stir your landlord’s conscience, we also want to stand with you in practical ways. As you’re able, it may help to keep a simple log of every incident, expense, and any communication you’ve had. That kind of record can make a big difference if you eventually need to seek outside help. If you haven’t already, a local tenants’ rights organization or legal aid clinic might be able to walk you through your options, you don’t have to sort through it all alone. And please stay connected to your medical provider so your body gets the care it needs.

We also want you to know we believe your suffering matters deeply to God. He is not indifferent to injustice or to the daily struggle of living with pain and disrupted routines. In the long, quiet stretch of waiting, we’re praying he wraps you in a steady peace that surpasses understanding.

Jesus, we ask you to heal every lingering effect of those electric shocks, soothe the skin problems and restore health. We pray you would awaken this landlord’s heart, bringing genuine repentance and a willingness to do good, including covering the costs that have accumulated. In the meantime, give our friend strength for each day, wisdom for the next step, and the comfort of knowing you see and care. In your name, Amen.

It is a sore trial when the wrongs of this life press upon us and no relief appears. Yet consider: the Lord is the great Landlord of all; the earth is His, and the fullness thereof. He has given you to dwell in this earthly house for a season, but He has not surrendered the title deeds. Even the hard-hearted man who refuses just recompense is but a breath in the Almighty's hand, and his substance, his conscience, and his very breath are at the Lord's command. The sorrow you feel is not hidden from Him who counts the tears of His afflicted ones. He permits these shocks and pains to draw you nearer to Himself, that you might prove the healing leaves which grow on the tree of life. There is abundance of healing power in Christ, not only for the body, but for the wounded spirit. The great Physician came not with a destroying rod, but with mercy mild, and He is present to heal such as cry unto Him.

Your petition for the landlord’s conscience is not in vain, for the Holy Spirit can take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. The Lord’s power is present to heal, even to heal the sin-sick soul. How often we find that our sweetest praises arise from the depths of distress, when we are humbled and made to see that salvation is entirely of grace. Wait on the Lord; the vision is for an appointed time. He who forgives all your iniquities also heals all your diseases. Perhaps the greater healing is that of your own heart, learning to lean wholly upon the Beloved Physician, to find that when men fail, Christ is all-sufficient.

Seek first the forgiveness that is in Jesus’ name, for He said, “Son, your sins are forgiven you,” before He said, “Rise up and walk.” All other mercies are added to the soul that is right with God through faith in the blood of the covenant. There may be yet an awakening in that man’s bosom, a stirring of remorse which shall lead to reparation; but if not, you have a rich compensation laid up where neither moth nor rust corrupts. The Lord Jesus entered the house of Peter when fever raged; so He enters your low estate. Let your patience have its perfect work, and refuse to let the deaf ear of man make you deaf to the lessons the Lord would teach you. What He speaks in the secret chamber of affliction shall one day blossom into praise before the congregation of the saints.

You pray that your landlord’s conscience be awakened by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent, yet after a month you see no communication, no remorse, no willingness to compensate you for your suffering. Do not let this trial cast you down or kindle a fire of resentment in your breast. Consider what God’s long-suffering truly means. It is not that He overlooks injustice, but that He grants time for repentance. If the landlord hardens his heart and refuses to turn, he is storing up wrath for himself against the day of wrath and the righteous judgment of God. His lack of change now does not mean God is indifferent; rather, it makes his judgment more fearful if he persists.

But while you wait for him to do right, take heed to your own heart. You have suffered physical harm and unjust treatment, and your desire for compensation is natural. Yet beware lest your prayers become merely a demand for your rights, mingled with anger. Have you also prayed for his salvation? Do you desire that he repent and be granted life, or only that he pay what you are owed? True charity seeks the good of the other, even when wronged. For if you loved him as a fellow sinner in need of mercy, you would rejoice more to see his soul delivered from the waves of sin than to see money placed in your hand.

I do not say that your request for justice is wrong. But let your pursuit of it be without venom. You ask that his conscience be stirred, good. Yet know this: tears and regret are not always repentance. Esau sought the blessing with many tears, but found no place of repentance, because his grief was worldly, not a change of heart leading to amendment of life. If your landlord one day shows sorrow merely to escape penalty or public shame, it will be of no profit. The Holy Spirit works a repentance that turns from evil and produces good fruit. So continue to pray, but do so with a spirit of forbearance, trusting that God sees all and will judge righteously.

Meanwhile, do not let this affliction drive you to see every poor or lowly person as an enemy, or to harden yourself against those in need. Some are quick to call a beggar an impostor, but you do not know what shipwrecks of life have brought them low. So too, you do not know the full state of your landlord’s soul. Leave him to God. Occupy yourself instead with what virtue you can cultivate in this trial: patience, mercy, forgiveness. For if you nurse your injury, you will add to your own sickness of soul.

God’s justice is not asleep. If the landlord does not repent, his end will be bitter. But you, beloved, if you bear this wrong remembering how Christ bore infinitely more for your sins, you will gain a crown more precious than any compensation. Pray for your enemy, and your own healing, of body and of spirit, will follow in God’s time.
