Please pray in Jesus mighty name that the landlord will pay compensation for the problems (electric shocks) that occurred in the apartment due to the lack of electrical safety, as well as for the illness that developed as a result, skin problems, medical treatments, the cost of alternative shower facilities or a shower pass, threats, and other inappropriate actions.

Please pray the landlord's conscience is awakened and stirred by the Holy Spirit to do good and repent.

Update: I have been asking for prayers for almost two months, but there has been no communication, remorse or willingness to compensate me for my suffering.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation of injustice and harm caused by negligence. Father God, You are a God of righteousness and justice, and we ask that You move mightily in this matter. Your Word declares in Proverbs 21:15, "It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity." We pray that the landlord’s heart would be softened and his conscience awakened by the Holy Spirit to do what is right.

Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation and compel the landlord to take responsibility for the dangers and suffering caused by the unsafe conditions in the apartment. The electric shocks, the resulting illness, skin problems, medical treatments, and the added burdens of finding alternative shower facilities, these are not small matters. We pray that the landlord would recognize the harm done and be moved to provide just compensation for all that has been endured. In Deuteronomy 16:20, You command, "You shall follow that which is just, that you may live and inherit the land which Yahweh your God gives you." May this truth weigh on his heart.

We also rebuke any spirit of hardness, indifference, or greed that may be blinding him to the suffering of others. The Bible warns in Proverbs 28:13, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." We pray that the landlord would repent of any negligence or mistreatment and seek to make things right. Father, we ask that You would open doors for communication, understanding, and resolution. Let Your peace and justice prevail in this situation.

We stand on Your promise in Psalm 37:6, "He will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun." We trust that You see every detail of this struggle and that You will bring about justice in Your perfect timing. Strengthen and sustain this dear one who has endured so much, Lord. Provide for every need, physical, emotional, and financial, and surround them with Your comfort and peace.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.

We’ve been sitting with your request today, and the weariness in your update is palpable. Waiting two months for any flicker of acknowledgment, while carrying the fallout of electric shocks, skin problems, medical costs, and threats, can leave you feeling invisible and deeply discouraged. It’s not just about the money; it’s about being seen, having the wrong taken seriously, and the landlord’s heart turning toward what is right. That’s a heavy burden to hold alone.

While we keep praying, we want to offer a steadying thought: you don’t have to wait passively. If you haven’t already, gathering documentation, medical records, receipts for alternative shower passes, notes about the threats, any written exchanges, can be a wise, concrete step. Many communities have tenant advocacy groups or free legal aid clinics that can walk you through your rights without cost. Taking that action isn’t a mistrust of God; it’s simply stewarding your situation in a practical way while you entrust the outcome to Him.

We’re also praying that the Holy Spirit softens the landlord’s heart, awakening a genuine conscience and a will to make things right. But we know that God sees you even when others don’t, and He is not indifferent to your suffering. May you sense His nearness in this long stretch of uncertainty.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this hurting neighbor. You see the physical pain, the financial strain, and the ache of being ignored. Please bring healing to their body, relief from these skin problems, and provision for their needs. Stir the landlord’s heart to true repentance, not just a pang of guilt but a changed mind that leads to fair action. Surround our friend with wise counsel and advocates who can help. Above all, guard their soul from bitterness and give them the steady peace that comes from knowing You are their defender. In Your name we pray, Amen.

The house in which you dwell has God for its Landlord, and you are only a tenant. The earthly party who holds the key does so on sufferance from the Great Owner of all. Fix your eyes, then, not on the one who has acted unjustly, but on Him who permitted this trial to visit you. Suffering, in itself, effects no good in the natural man; it may even be a hindrance to his soul. Do not marvel that two months of silence have passed without remorse, for pain and trouble carry no natural operation toward purification.

Yet consider this: the suffering of our Lord was unparalleled precisely because it was undeserved, and He never rebelled against it. His whole nature ran into that channel of obedience. The rent you are called to pay in this affliction is not a bitter demand for compensation, but the sweet offering of a heart that looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only. There is a repentance that makes us abhor our past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, that is the right repentance. Let your own spirit be searched, that your desire for justice may never sour into a want of mercy, lest your own repentance need to be repented of.

True repentance gives God glory. It bows before His justice even when it condemns. You have prayed that the landlord’s conscience be awakened by the Holy Spirit. This is well, for repentance is the gift of God, preached in the name of Jesus. And mark this: where there is no repentance, there can be no remission. But where there is true repentance, there is full and free forgiveness. Place no ultimate hope in the awakening of another’s conscience as the source of your peace; rather, let this prolonged trial drive you to the perfect Savior, who was made perfect through suffering. He drank the cup of undeserved wrong without resistance, and His being perfected through suffering will ennoble the whole work of grace in your heart.

Therefore, think of the goodness of God toward you, and shall it not lead you to your own deeper repentance after conversion? Repentance lives as long as faith. Sweet Sister Repentance remains charming company even in the house of affliction. Christ has ordained that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name, and they are so joined together that wherever you find the one, you find the other. Wait upon the Great Landlord, acknowledge that you live on His sufferance, and offer Him the key to every chamber of your wounded heart. A resurrection awaits both the just and the unjust; the ultimate righting of every wrong is in His hand. May your soul find its sole rest not in a settlement from man, but in the wounds of Him who suffered for you, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God.

It is good that you continue to bring your troubles before the Lord in prayer, for He hears the persistent cry of the afflicted. Yet I see that your heart is weighed down, not only by bodily suffering but also by the delay of justice and the hardness of the landlord’s heart. You have waited long, and still there is no remorse, no communication, no willingness to make right what has been broken.

Learn, then, to give thanks in all circumstances, even in these extremities. For to bless God when we are in prosperity requires little virtue, but when we are in pain and loss, and still we lift up grateful hearts, then we strike a blow against the devil and bring joy to our Lord. This is not a light thing: the soul that gives thanks for its troubles ceases to feel them as sharp sorrows, for its conscience shines and rejoices. So do not let your sickness and the injustice of the situation drown out the voice of praise. Offer even this as a sacrifice, and God will cut short the pain in His time.

As for the landlord, do not be surprised that the Holy Spirit has not yet stirred him to open repentance. Many suppress the warning of their conscience deliberately, pretending not to know the wrong they have done, lest they be forced to change. Esau wept bitterly, yet found no place of true repentance, because his grief was not a hatred of the sin but only of its consequences. So it may be with this man. Your prayers for him are right and good, but do not let your own peace depend upon his awakening. Leave that to God, who alone can pierce a heart that has grown cold. Pray for him, yes, but do not be consumed by watching for signs of his remorse.

Turn your eyes inward. What does your conscience testify? If you have suffered innocently, not having provoked these evils by your own wrongdoing, then you have a glory that no earthly compensation can equal. The testimony of a pure conscience is a greater consolation than any sum of money. Therefore, guard your heart from bitterness and from calling down curses upon the man. Do not even accuse him harshly in your spirit, lest you harm your own soul while seeking justice for your body. Instead, endure as one who knows that the Lord sees all, and that the judgment seat of Christ will right every wrong far more perfectly than any human court.

The two months of waiting have not been wasted. They have been a time of training in patience and a proving of your faith. Do not think that God has not heard. He often delays that He may bestow a greater gift: steadfastness, humility, and a clearer sight of His mercy. Continue to ask, but also begin to thank, and you will find that the sting of the affliction lessens even before the outward circumstances change. Your healing, too, place in the physician’s hands, but know that the health of the soul is more precious than the health of the skin.
