Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we join you in prayer for this family in their grief over the loss of this father. We ask God to draw near to his close ones in this difficult time and to grant them true comfort and strength that comes from Him.
In times of loss and bereavement, the Scriptures are like a chest of medicines for the soul. We encourage you and this family to dive into them and keep them in mind, for no one comforts as God does through His word. He is our Heavenly Father and He knows that we have need of all these things, and He does not overlook His children in their extremity. Whether we are afflicted or comforted, God works that affliction and comfort for salvation as we patiently endure, and He gives hope that is steadfast because the sufferings of Christ abound toward us and so does His consolation.
We also remember that those who have fallen asleep in Christ are in His hands, and our comfort is not only in the present but in the hope of resurrection and being ever with the Lord. The present life is short, and waiting on the Lord is no small part of our hope, for He who will come will come and will not delay.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask You to comfort this family and give them strength in their sorrow. Provide for their needs according to Your riches, including their financial needs, as You know what they lack. We ask above all that You bring each of them to repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Draw them to Yourself, open their hearts to the gospel, and grant them faith to trust in Christ. Grant them peace that comes from knowing You, and help them to seek You daily in Your word. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
