Humble Prayer Warrior
I have prayed some of the prayers that you sent me and I don't feel at peace. I have my driving lesson once a week and have my ### to focus on. I feel that I need to put my health first. It's the cost of getting to college aswell. In terms of my relationships I'm not involving myself with unbelievers.

We hear your struggle, and we stand with you in seeking God’s peace and wisdom in this season. The weight of college, responsibilities, and the cost of daily life can feel overwhelming, but we declare that the Lord is your Provider, your Strength, and your Peace. You are not alone in this, He sees your efforts, your prayers, and your desire to honor Him.

First, let us address the lack of peace. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." If you are not feeling His peace, we must ask: Are you surrendering these burdens fully to Him, or are you still trying to carry them in your own strength? Peace comes when we release control and trust Him completely. Let us pray for you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their heart to You. Lord, You see the weight they are carrying, the stress of college, the financial strain, and the desire to honor You in all things. We ask that You would break the spirit of anxiety and replace it with Your perfect peace. Help them to cast every care upon You, knowing that You care for them deeply. Give them clarity in their decisions, strength in their responsibilities, and wisdom in managing their time and resources. Father, we declare that You are their Provider, and no need will go unmet when they seek You first. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen."

Now, regarding your health and the practical challenges you face, we want to encourage you with 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." It is wise and godly to prioritize your health, for your body belongs to the Lord. If the cost of travel to college is a burden, we encourage you to seek the Lord for provision. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Have you considered if there are alternative solutions, such as carpooling, public transportation, or even speaking with your college about financial aid or scholarships for transportation? We will pray for divine provision in this area.

We also want to commend you for your commitment to not being unequally yoked with unbelievers in your relationships. This is a biblical principle found in 2 Corinthians 6:14, which says, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" It is clear that you desire to honor God in this area, and that is something to celebrate. If you are currently seeking a spouse, we encourage you to continue pursuing godly relationships with the intent of marriage, as the Bible outlines. Proverbs 18:22 tells us, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord." Keep your heart open to God’s leading, and trust that He will bring the right person into your life at the right time.

However, we must also gently address something that was not explicitly mentioned in your request: the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is the foundation of our relationship with God, and it is the starting point for experiencing His peace, provision, and purpose in your life. If you have already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him, seeking His will in every area of your life.

In closing, we want to leave you with this encouragement from Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." The Lord is with you, and He will not abandon you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep walking in obedience to His Word. We will continue to stand in the gap for you in prayer, believing that God will move mightily on your behalf. You are not forgotten, and your life has purpose in Him.

We hear how heavy it is to keep praying and still not feel the peace you expected. That does not mean nothing is changing. Often peace comes quietly, as a clearer sense of what to carry today and what to set down.

Because your health keeps surfacing as urgent, we would gently encourage you to make that the next concrete step. If there is a medical concern you have been pushing aside, let a doctor or campus health clinic look at it. Caring for your body is part of wisdom, not a detour.

For the cost of getting to college, consider setting up one meeting with a student support or financial aid advisor. They may know about travel discounts, hardship assistance, or a less expensive route you have not considered. That step alone could reduce some of the pressure.

You do not need to figure all of this out at once. We are asking the Lord to give you enough clarity for the next week, and to steady you while peace grows slowly.

Father, thank You for seeing every part of this season. Please quiet the restlessness inside, give wisdom about health, college expenses, and the weekly lesson, and lead this person to supportive believers who will walk with them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Do not mistake the absence of a pleasant feeling for the absence of God’s peace. You have prayed, and I am thankful for it, but the ground of your peace must never be "I have prayed," nor "I have resolved to be careful." That ground is Christ Himself. He is our peace. Seek Him before you seek a comfortable state, and the comfort will follow in His time.

You are weighing college, health, cost, and the company you keep. These are not trifles. To care for the body is a duty, to count the cost is wisdom, and to avoid close entanglement with unbelievers is right. Yet none of these outward arrangements can make the conscience still. A man may have health, economy, and godly companions, and yet be a stranger to peace with God. The peace that is worth having is not the quiet of circumstances; it is the blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Search your own soul, then, with an honest heart. Is there any known disobedience, any secret sin, any broken vow? If there is, there can be no true peace while it remains unconfessed and unforsaken. But if your heart condemns you not, then do not expect to find peace by settling every earthly question at once. The promise is to the mind stayed on God: You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You. Not the feelings, not the bank account, not the health, but the mind fixed on the Lord.

If the cost or the weakness of the flesh shuts the door of college, let it not be called a defeat. If the Lord opens the door, He will furnish the means in His hour. Do not force a decision merely to escape the present trial. Lay the whole matter before the throne of grace, do the next duty that lies before you, and leave the issue with Him. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

There is a false peace that the devil gives to men who are at ease in rebellion; I would not have you take that. But there is also a true peace, the peace of Christ, which is a present possession even in the midst of care. Go anew to the cross. He that has Christ has great peace and nothing shall offend him. Wait there until your soul learns to say, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.

May the Lord make His way plain before your face.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty in sharing this is valued and your continued prayer even when peace does not yet come in feeling is itself a faithful step. Peace is not always an immediate feeling after prayer. Christ said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, and that peace is a work of God in us over time as we learn to trust Him, to watch and to remain sober in His presence. It is good to keep bringing your heart to Him and to ask for the peace that guards heart and mind, while also giving time for Him to form that peace in you through His Word, through fellowship, and through wise ordering of your life.

It is right and wise to put your health first. Scripture itself teaches us to care for the body God has given us, and even Paul urged Timothy to attend to his bodily needs for his often infirmities. The body and the mind need rest and order if they are to serve God well. If you are unwell or stretched too thin, it is not a lack of faith to step back, to seek medical advice if needed, to rest, and to order your responsibilities so that health can be preserved. Many who are healthy become weak through overextending themselves, and many who are weak become strong again through careful stewardship. Listen to your limits and seek counsel from those who know you well, including a pastor and, if needed, a medical professional.

The pressures you name around college, the cost of travel, the weekly driving lesson and the other studies you must focus on are real burdens. God sees the whole of your life and cares about how you use your time and resources. It is not wrong to count the cost and to ask whether this is the right season for college, or whether a different pace or path would allow you to be a better steward of your health, your finances and your studies. Pray for wisdom, speak with a trusted advisor at the college and with family or mentors who can help you weigh the practical costs and the long term good. Ask God to provide, to open doors where He would have you walk, and to close them where He would have you wait.

It is encouraging to hear that in your relationships you are choosing not to involve yourself with unbelievers. That is a biblical and protective choice. Scripture calls believers to walk in fellowship with those who share faith in Christ, so that you may be built up and not pulled away from Him. Continue in the community of believers, in prayer, in the reading of Scripture, and in honest friendship where Christ is at the center.

We will pray for you. Father in heaven, we thank You that You hear every prayer through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation. We ask You to grant this dear one Your peace that passes understanding, to strengthen health in body and mind, to give clear wisdom about college and provision for every cost, and to guide each step in driving lessons and studies. Keep this life close to You, guard relationships in purity and faith, and help each decision to be made in love for You and for Your glory. Give daily grace to watch, to rest, and to trust You more deeply. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Please keep letting us know how you are doing, and do not hesitate to seek personal support from a local pastor or trusted Christian mentor as you make these decisions.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about where you are right now. It is understandable to feel unsettled when you have been praying and still do not feel at peace, while also carrying the pressure of college, the cost of travel, weekly driving lessons, and the need to look after your health.

Scripture makes a helpful distinction that may encourage you. There is peace with God and there is the peace of God. Peace with God comes only through Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross, where He made peace through His blood and forgave our sins. When that war with God is over, the inner turmoil that comes from being at enmity with Him can end. Then there is the peace of God itself, that steady, guarding peace that keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus and passes all human understanding. The world cannot explain it, and even we often cannot explain how we can be calm in difficult circumstances.

That second kind of peace is described as perfect peace for the person whose mind is stayed on the Lord because he trusts in Him. Not feeling peace right away after you pray does not mean your prayers have failed or that God has forgotten you. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. He invites you to bring everything to Him in prayer with thanksgiving, to tell Him about your anxieties and cares, and then to keep your mind turned toward Him and trusting Him to take care of what you have placed in His hands. As you do that, His peace can guard your heart even while circumstances remain complicated.

It is wise that you want to put your health first. God does care about your health and your body, and caring for your health is part of good stewardship. At the same time the Bible shows that we cannot equate physical health directly with spiritual health. Some of the most faithful followers of Jesus have walked through great health struggles, and that does not mean they lacked faith. There is a connection between the well being of the soul and the well being of the body, and John prayed for his friend that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, but that was a loving wish and not a guarantee that everything will always go smoothly. Continue to nurture your soul by staying close to Christ, and also make wise, practical choices for your body, including rest and care and not taking on more than you can bear.

Regarding college and the financial cost of getting there, it is right to count the cost honestly before the Lord. God does not want you to live in constant worry and fear about provision. Bring the practical details to Him, seek His wisdom, and ask for His peaceable wisdom from above, which is pure and gentle and willing to yield and full of mercy. That wisdom leads to peace and helps you sow peace, and those who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. If stepping back or slowing down for a season helps you steward your health and resources better, that can be a peaceful and responsible decision made in trust, not in panic.

I am encouraged that you are choosing not to involve yourself romantically with unbelievers. That is a biblical and wise protection for your peace. To be at peace with God first brings peace within your own heart, and that then makes it possible to have healthier peace with others. Staying within the boundaries God has given for relationships keeps you from the inner conflict that comes when we walk away from fellowship with Him.

May the Lord keep you in His perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed on Him. May the God of peace be with you and may His peace which passes all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. I am praying that He will make your next steps clear, provide for your needs, strengthen your health, and draw you into deeper trust and fellowship with Himself, where true and lasting peace is found.
