If He means you to wait another year, the year is not wasted; it is made useful to you in a way that college could never be.

Thank you for sharing what is on your heart. The pressure you feel is understandable. A choice about college that could mean waiting a full year if you delay, together with a medical referral that brings its own uncertainty, puts you in a place where a clear decision is needed.
Scripture shows that the place of decision is serious and personal. No one else can make it for you. You must choose for yourself whether you will follow the Lord and His ways or go your own way, and that choice shapes your future. One of the dangers the Bible warns about is putting off an important decision. When a person keeps saying not yet and waits for a more convenient time, that habit itself makes the heart less responsive. Each time you defer, it becomes harder to say yes later. We see this in the example of Felix, who felt conviction when he heard the truth yet kept postponing his response and waited for another time that never came. Trembling under conviction is not the same as acting on it. Conversion and real direction come when you act on what God is showing you.
At the same time the Bible teaches there is wisdom in waiting for God's timing and not rushing ahead in your own strength. Knowing God's will and doing it in God's time are both important. Many have learned by experience that moving ahead impatiently in the flesh leads to trouble, while waiting on the Lord with a willing heart brings peace. The balance is this, do not delay out of fear or indecision, but do seek the Lord sincerely for His timing and then obey what He shows you.
God has a way of strengthening the direction you truly choose. When Pharaoh hardened his heart, God confirmed him in that hardness. When a person chooses the right way with the Lord, God also confirms and strengthens that right choice, even when you feel weak at first. Your decision for Christ is the most important one, and your decision about college should flow from that surrendered place.
Here are short daily prayers you can use as you seek the Lord for wisdom about your studies and for your health. Pray them simply and honestly in Jesus name, who alone is the way of salvation.

God has a way of strengthening the direction you truly choose. When Pharaoh hardened his heart, God confirmed him in that hardness. When a person chooses the right way with the Lord, God also confirms and strengthens that right choice, even when you feel weak at first. Your decision for Christ is the most important one, and your decision about college should flow from that surrendered place.
Here are short daily prayers you can use as you seek the Lord for wisdom about your studies and for your health. Pray them simply and honestly in Jesus name, who alone is the way of salvation.
1. Lord Jesus, I give my life and my future to you. Forgive my sin and lead me as my Savior and Lord. Give me a clear mind to know your will today.
2. Father, grant me wisdom. Your word says you give wisdom generously to those who ask. Show me whether this is the right time to return to college or whether you want me to wait. Make your way plain.
3. Lord, open the right doors and close the wrong ones. If you want me to go now, provide what I need and give me peace. If you want me to wait, help me trust you with the extra year and use the time well.
4. Father, I bring my health to you. You know the referral and the concern behind it. Guide those who will care for me, give them insight, and give me peace as I wait. Heal according to your will and help me trust you in all things.
5. Lord, keep me from putting off what I know I should do. Help me not to be pressured by fear or by what others expect, but to do what is right before you. Strengthen me to obey promptly when you speak.
6. Father, I place my future in your hands. Whether I study now or later, I want to follow you faithfully. Confirm the right decision and make me strong to walk in it for your glory.
Keep bringing these matters to the Lord in prayer, stay in His word, and seek counsel from mature believers who know you. As you seek Him with an open and obedient heart, He will give you wisdom and peace to take the next step.
