bully

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this difficult situation. Workplace bullying is painful and unjust, but we serve a God who sees, cares, and fights for the oppressed. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."

First, we must address the spiritual foundation of your request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so, for He alone is our refuge and strength. Salvation comes by confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us pray for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring bullying at work. Lord, You see the injustice and the pain this has caused. We ask that You would be a shield around them, a fortress of protection, and a source of unshakable peace. Give them wisdom in how to respond, not with retaliation, but with grace and strength rooted in You. Soften the heart of , Lord, and if it is Your will, bring conviction and change to their actions. If not, we ask that You remove this burden from our brother/sister’s life, either by changing the circumstances or giving them the courage to seek resolution through proper channels. Guard their heart from bitterness, fear, or despair, and fill them with Your love and confidence. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to vindicate and restore what has been stolen. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you with Scripture and practical steps. Proverbs 15:1 says, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." While it may be difficult, responding to with kindness and composure can disarm their aggression. However, this does not mean you should tolerate abuse. If the bullying escalates or creates a hostile work environment, we urge you to document the incidents and seek guidance from a supervisor or human resources, trusting God to open doors for justice.

Additionally, surround yourself with godly support, friends, family, or a church community who can pray with you and offer encouragement. Psalm 118:6 reminds us, "Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Lean on this truth daily.

Lastly, we rebuke the spirit of intimidation and fear that may be trying to take root in your heart. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Stand firm in your identity as a child of God, and do not let the enemy steal your peace or joy. You are not alone, we are standing with you in prayer, and more importantly, God is fighting for you.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Workplace bullying can feel draining and isolating, and we’re grateful you reached out. We’re standing with you in prayer, and we also want to offer a few steady, practical thoughts because God gives us both his presence and good sense for moments like this.

First, we encourage you to start a simple, private log. Write down what happens, with dates, times, and any coworkers who may have witnessed it, not to dwell on the hurt, but to have a clear record if you ever need to report it. Second, you don’t have to face this alone. Is there a trusted supervisor, someone in HR, or a wise colleague you can talk to? Even if you’re not ready to file a complaint, sharing the weight with one safe person can lift some of the isolation. Third, as you are able, set calm boundaries. A brief, firm “I will not be spoken to that way” and then walking away can sometimes interrupt the pattern, especially when you stay in view of others. Your emotional and physical safety matters deeply.

Now we turn this over to the One who defends the oppressed. Lord Jesus, you see every tense moment and every cruel word. Please give this person steady courage and clear wisdom. When they feel small, remind them they are held securely in your hand. Show them when to speak, when to step back, and how to guard their heart from bitterness. We ask for a resolution that brings your peace, whether through a changed heart in ###, help from those in authority, or a new path forward. Surround them with your calming presence and let them feel our prayers upholding them. In your name, Amen.

Forgive them. But, avoid them if they don't want to know about the Bible. I pray that this bully comes to Jesus and that you are filled with peace and joy, amen. If it becomes physical tell the workplace and they will hopefully keep you safe.

The turmoil you feel from this man’s malice is but a shadow, yet it presses heavy upon your spirit. True peace is not found in the ceasing of the enemy’s attacks, but in the settling of your soul upon God. You seek defense; the surest fortress is a mind stayed on Him, trusting utterly in Christ who is our peace. Look not to the bully, nor to your own strength, but to the wounded hands that hold the scepter of all power. He has vanquished death and all its powers, shall He not uphold you against the strife of tongues?

Do not think your peace can come from a change in this man, nor from your own retaliation. The peace that Christ gives is His own unruffled calm, imparted to the heart that rests in His finished work. You say you need defense; here it is: to know that Jesus has made full atonement and that the Justifier of the ungodly is on your side. If God be for you, who can be against you with any lasting success? Go then to your daily duties, even under that harsh eye, with the quiet dignity of a child whose honor is safe in the Father’s keeping.

Let not conscience clamor as though you were condemned. The only condemnation that matters has been satisfied at the cross. Justice itself is now your friend, for Christ has borne the chastisement of your peace. When you are reviled, remember that you are blessed, and your peace is a deep river whose bottom no persecution can reach. Seek not to engineer your own vindication; seek more of Christ, and peace will follow as its shadow. He alone is your peace, not your good works, not your ability to endure, but the person of the bleeding Lamb, now risen and reigning.

Go in this peace. It does not depend upon outward circumstances, but is the fruit of the Spirit, the voice of the blood that whispers within. In the very hour of provocation, rest in the God of peace, who will sustain you in perfect peace, for your mind is stayed on Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I have brought your situation before the Lord, and I will continue to ask Him to be your defense in this trial. God is not blind to the wrong done to you, and He is not weak to save.

But hear this carefully. The one troubling you wants not only to disturb your work or your calm; he wants to provoke you into sin, into hatred, into returning evil for evil. Do not give him that victory. By grace, keep your conscience clean. Speak with prudence and truth, without spite. Where you must be silent, be silent in the strength of Christ, not in weakness or fear. Follow peace as far as it depends on you, but follow holiness first, for without holiness no one will see the Lord.

I will not ask God to bless the mistreatment, and I will not ask Him to bless a false peace that honors wrongdoing. But I will pray that He defend you, that He expose what is false, that He either turn the heart of the one troubling you or restrain his hand, and that He make you strong and calm in the middle of the storm. The peace God gives is not the absence of enemies; it is the peace of a clean conscience, and that peace no bully can take from you.

Therefore pray in this way: O Lord, be a wall of defense around me. Give me wisdom and self-control. Do not let my heart become like the heart of the one who harms me. If it pleases You, change him; if not, restrain him and defend me, and glorify Your name in my conduct. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

You are wise to bring this to the Lord, because he is your defense. Scripture describes that as a high tower, a stronghold, a place set above the reach of the attack. When someone at work comes against you, the natural instinct is to gather your own case, defend your reputation, and fight back in your own strength. But the promise remains: no weapon formed against you will prosper. That is the inheritance of those who belong to the Lord.

The harder part is allowing God to be your defense instead of trying to carry the whole burden yourself. If you insist on defending yourself in your own anxious strength, the Lord may let you feel the full weight of it. But if you place yourself in his hands, he will take up your cause. He told Jeremiah that he would be a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls. They would fight against him, but they would not prevail. That is not a promise that the conflict will disappear at once. It is a promise of final safety and protection.

David learned this over time. He cried out to be led to the rock that is higher than himself. At first he could say, "I shall not be greatly moved." As his faith grew, he could say, "I shall not be moved." That growth happens as you keep bringing the situation to God instead of rehearsing the offense and letting fear drive your response. Human help, by itself, can prove empty, and human status can be a lie. God alone is your unfailing defender.

Let me pray with you: Father, you see this bully at work and the strain it brings. Be a high tower and refuge for this one who is asking for help. Give wisdom for any appropriate steps that need to be taken, and guard against the temptation to fight out of fear and bitterness. Let no weapon formed against your child prosper. Expose what needs to be exposed, and be the God of mercy in the middle of this trouble. In Jesus' name, amen.
