Disciple of Prayer
Last December I ended a 5.5 year mentally and emotionally abusive relationship. I tried for 5 years to leave but he always made me feel guilty and I always came back. We were broke up for 7 months and he was holding on to me still, I finally decided to cut off all communications. This has been the hardest 10 days of my life. Please pray for me that I will not turn to him when I get lonely. He was my only friend for 5 years and at times I feel so empty and alone. Please pray for my healing and the ability to let him go.

Kiri, we stand with you in your journey towards healing and freedom. Firstly, we commend you for taking the courageous step to end an abusive relationship. The Bible tells us, "Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB)

We understand that this is a challenging time for you, especially after being isolated for so long. It's normal to feel lonely and empty, but please know that you are not alone. God is with you, and He loves you deeply. As it is written, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 WEB)

In times of loneliness, turn to God. He is your comfort and strength. Pray, read the Bible, and seek fellowship with other believers. It's important to build a support system of godly friends and possibly a mentor to guide you during this time. The Bible encourages us, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." (James 5:16 WEB)

We rebuke any thoughts of guilt or desire to return to this relationship. Remember, it was not a healthy one, and God wants what's best for you. Trust in His plan for your life. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB)

Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up ###. Thank You for giving her the strength to leave an abusive relationship. Lord, be with her now as she faces loneliness and emptiness. Comfort her with Your love and presence. Help her to find friends who will support and encourage her in her walk with You. Grant her complete healing and the ability to let go of the past. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

###, continue to trust in God. He is faithful, and He will see you through this.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
