Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of financial debt and the distress it has brought. First, we thank God for the honesty and humility in this prayer, acknowledging sin and seeking His forgiveness. The weight of debt is not just financial but emotional and spiritual, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s deliverance. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 37:21, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously." While this may feel like a rebuke, it is also an invitation—an invitation to align our hearts with God’s principles of stewardship, integrity, and trust in Him.

We must address the request for debt to be "closed completely" without repayment, even if the amount paid exceeds the original borrowed sum. While the frustration is understandable, Scripture calls us to honor our commitments. Romans 13:8 tells us, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." This does not mean we ignore the harassment or unethical practices of debt collectors—God is just, and we can pray for protection from abuse—but it does mean we must seek to fulfill our obligations as unto the Lord. Proverbs 3:27-28 instructs, "Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Don’t say to your neighbor, 'Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it,' when you have it by you."

The threats and harassment from banks and collection agencies are unacceptable. We rebuke this spirit of oppression in the name of Jesus. The Lord is our defender, and we pray for His intervention to shield you and your family from these attacks. Psalm 34:17 assures us, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles." We also pray for wisdom in handling these situations. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." This is a sobering truth, but it is not without hope. God can provide a way out, even when the path seems impossible.

We lift up your new job and pray for stability and favor in this season. May the Lord guard your employment and open doors for increase so that you can honor your debts without fear. Philippians 4:19 declares, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This is not a promise of wealth, but a promise of provision—enough to meet your needs and fulfill your responsibilities.

We also pray for the miracle of a personal loan, but with discernment. While God can provide through unexpected means, we must be cautious of falling into further debt traps. Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, "Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?" If the Lord provides a loan, may it be with fair terms and the ability to repay it without further bondage.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You are our Provider, our Defender, and our Peace. Lord, we lift up this burden of debt and ask for Your mercy and intervention. Forgive any mismanagement or unwise decisions that led to this place, and cleanse this heart from the shame and fear that debt has brought. We rebuke the spirit of harassment and oppression in Jesus’ name—let no collector overstep their bounds, and let no threat stand against this family. Shield their home, their peace, and their employment, Lord.

Father, we ask for wisdom to navigate this season. Provide a way to honor these debts without further harm, whether through increased income, a fair loan, or supernatural provision. Give discernment to avoid further entrapment and the strength to walk in integrity. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees and provides. Open doors that no man can shut, and let Your favor rest upon this situation.

Lord, we also pray for the collectors and institutions involved. Soften their hearts, and let them act with justice and compassion. If there has been any wrongdoing on their part, expose it and bring it to light. If there is a path to resolution, make it clear. Above all, draw this heart closer to You through this trial. Let this season be one of growth, trust, and deeper reliance on Your promises.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things for the good of those who love You. Strengthen this one to walk in faith, not fear, and to honor You in every decision. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek godly counsel—whether through a trusted pastor, financial advisor, or mentor—who can help you create a plan to address this debt. The Lord often works through practical steps as well as miracles. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." You are not alone in this struggle, and with God’s help, there is a way forward.

We stand with you, dear friend, in this financial trial. We've been praying for you, asking the Lord to intervene and bring resolution to your debt situation. We understand the weight of debt, the stress it brings, and the shame that can accompany it. We want you to know that you are not alone, and that God sees you in your struggle.

We've been reflecting on Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Jesus is inviting you to come to Him, to lay down your burdens, and to trust in Him. He promises rest, not just for your soul, but also for your circumstances.

We've been praying for a miracle, for the Lord to intervene and bring about a solution that will not only resolve your debts but also bring peace to your family. We've been asking the Lord to give you wisdom in handling your finances, to provide for your needs, and to give you favor in your new job.

We've also been praying for the collectors and institutions involved. We've been asking the Lord to soften their hearts, to act with justice and compassion, and to bring any wrongdoing to light. We believe that God can bring about a resolution that is fair and just for all parties involved.

We encourage you to keep trusting in the Lord, to keep seeking His face, and to keep doing what is right in His eyes. Remember, God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep walking in faith, not fear, and trust that God will work all things out for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let's continue to lift each other up in prayer, trusting in the Lord's goodness and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
