addiction

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in prayer as he struggles with the chains of alcohol addiction. This is a battle not just against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness that seek to steal, kill, and destroy (Ephesians 6:12). We know the pain and fear you must feel watching your son trapped in this cycle, but we also know that our God is greater than any addiction, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

First, we must acknowledge that true freedom comes only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and this includes salvation from the bondage of addiction. If your son has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior. Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). This is the hope we cling to, that Christ came to set the captives free.

Addiction is a form of idolatry, where something other than God takes first place in the heart. Scripture warns us, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24). Alcohol, or any substance, cannot satisfy the soul; only God can. We rebuke the lie that your son needs this crutch to cope, and we declare that Christ is his strength, his refuge, and his deliverer. The Bible says, "Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise" (Proverbs 20:1). We pray that your son would turn away from this deception and seek wisdom in the Lord.

We also recognize that addiction often thrives in isolation. Scripture tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We encourage your son to surround himself with godly men who will walk alongside him, hold him accountable, and pray for him. The church is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we believe that through Christian community, healing can take root.

Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come against this spirit of addiction that has taken hold of this young man. We break its power over his life and declare that he is no longer a slave to sin but a son of the Most High God (John 8:36). We pray for a supernatural work of deliverance in his heart, mind, and body. Lord, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, who gives power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Remove the desire for alcohol and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).

We pray for healing in every area of his life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. If there are wounds or traumas that have led him to seek escape in alcohol, we ask that You bring healing and restoration. Your Word says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We trust You to do a mighty work in his life.

We also pray for you, as his parent, that you would find strength and peace in the Lord. It is so hard to watch a child struggle, but we know that God hears your cries. Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Lean on the Lord and on the support of fellow believers as you walk this difficult path.

Finally, we declare that this addiction does not have the final say. Jesus came to give life, and life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand on the promise that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We pray that your son would experience the freedom that only Christ can give, and that his testimony would bring glory to God.

Lord, we ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name that brings salvation, healing, and deliverance. Amen.

please pray that my son ### is rid of his alcohol addiction

Praying for you and your request in Jesus.

Have we ever really meditated on Matthew 6 where Jesus instructs us to take no thought for our lives? I have looked at this in terms of the rest of the Bible where I have learned to claim His Promises in Jesus and take on His thoughts for my life. Thank You Lord Jesus for Blessing me to learn to stop thinking about my life, learn to take on Your thoughts for my life and so much more for Your Glory and my good in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Do you Believe Jesus died for our sins, is Risen from the dead, is Preparing a place for us and is about to call us to join Him?

Are you watching for Jesus in the Clouds of Glory? Jesus is about to call us to join Him!

We can do everything Jesus did and more! We can speak; sickness leave in Jesus! Be healed by Jesus stripes! I am healed by Jesus stripes! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

You can copy and paste this to pray every day and share...

There is nothing that happens for us that is bad except our thoughts about what is happening to us. The Bible says All things work together for our good in Jesus! Look at everything as good!

Sing through out your days Thank You Jesus, Praise You Jesus, Glory to You Lord Jesus or anything that is on your heart to sing to Jesus! It doesn't matter how we sound, Angels will join in with us and Jesus will join in with us as well as fight for us, knock down walls for us, open locks for us, save people for us, evil will flee from us, He heals us and He will over flow His Holy Peace in us.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life from Matthew 6. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. My wife returned. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus! All things work together for my good in Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Our hearts ache deeply as we lift your son up to the Lord, knowing the grip alcohol has on his life feels unbearable at times. We can only imagine the weight you carry too, but we hold onto the truth that nothing is too hard for God. Remember how David cried out in Psalm 34, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles"? That same God is listening now.

We pray that your son would encounter Jesus in a fresh way, not just as a concept, but as the living Savior who can break every chain. Maybe right now he feels too far gone, but God specializes in restoring what’s broken. What if this season of struggle is actually preparing his heart to receive real freedom? We trust that the same God who turned water into wine can turn his sorrow into joy.

Father, would You surround him with people who will walk with him, not to shame him, but to love him into wholeness? And would You meet him in his loneliness, showing him that You are enough? Break the lie that alcohol is his comfort and replace it with the truth that You are his refuge. Heal every wound that drives him toward escape, and fill the emptiness with Your presence.

We pray for you too, that you’d feel God’s nearness in the waiting. His grace is sufficient, even when deliverance feels slow. In Jesus’ name, we declare that this addiction does not get the final word. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the weight of your heart as you asked for prayer on behalf of your son, who is battling alcohol addiction. It is our honor to stand in the gap with you, lifting him before the Lord and believing for complete freedom and restoration in Jesus’ Name. Addiction is a fierce struggle, but we know that our God is greater, and His power to break every chain is unmatched.

If you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of breakthrough—perhaps a moment of clarity, a step toward help, or a renewed desire for change—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can celebrate God’s faithfulness together. If, however, the battle still rages and the victory feels distant, we want to encourage you not to lose heart. Please post this request again as a new prayer need so we can continue to intercede with you, believing that God is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord surround you and your son with His peace, strength, and hope as you press into Him. We pray for wisdom for you as a parent, for courage and surrender for your son, and for divine intervention to shatter the grip of this addiction. Keep seeking the Lord, trusting in His timing, and holding fast to His promises. We stand with you, believing that healing and freedom are coming. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.
