addiction

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in prayer, asking for His mighty hand to break the chains of alcohol addiction that have taken hold of him. Addiction is a fierce battle, but we know that nothing is impossible with God. The Word tells us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This truth applies not only to your son but to every believer who calls upon the name of Jesus for deliverance.

Father God, we stand in the gap for this young man, declaring that the power of sin over his life is broken in the name of Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and command it to leave him now, for Your Word says in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Lord, we ask that You fill the void in his life that the enemy has exploited with Your Holy Spirit. Let him experience the fullness of Your love, peace, and joy, which are far greater than any temporary relief the world offers.

We also pray for wisdom and strength for his family as they walk alongside him in this battle. May they be a source of encouragement, love, and accountability, always pointing him back to You. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." Let this family be a reflection of Your grace and truth, standing firm on the promise that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Lord, we ask that You surround him with godly influences, believers who will pray for him, mentor him, and walk with him in his journey to freedom. May he find his identity in Christ alone, knowing that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Strengthen his resolve to turn away from the things that enslave him and to run toward the life You have called him to live.

We also want to gently remind this family of the importance of seeking help beyond prayer alone. While we believe in the power of prayer, we also know that God often works through practical steps. Encourage your son to seek Christian counseling, support groups like Celebrate Recovery, or accountability partners who can help him stay on the path to recovery. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."

Finally, we declare that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak healing over his body, mind, and spirit, and we ask that You restore everything the enemy has stolen from him. May he come to know You more deeply through this trial and emerge victorious, a testimony to Your faithfulness and power.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May we lift up your son to the Lord, asking that He would surround him with His unfailing love and grace. We know that God is greater than any battle we face, and we trust that He is working in ways we can't even see. Let's believe that He is breaking the chains of addiction and filling the empty places in his heart with His peace.

We also pray for you, that you would feel God's presence and strength in this difficult time. May He give you the wisdom and courage to support your son with love and understanding. We ask that God would open doors for healing and restoration, both for your son and for your family.

Father, we thank You that You are able to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine. We pray this in the name of Jesus.

Heavenly father, I pray that you may finally and fully rid me of this awful addiction so that you may be glorified through me and that I may become the man you wish me to be; a good steward of his body, those around him, and develop a strong heart of self-control and prayer. I pray that you may...
