addiction

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in earnest prayer. Addiction is a fierce battle, one that grips the body, mind, and spirit, but we know that nothing is impossible with God. The Word tells us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This truth is not just for the strong—it is for those who feel weak, broken, and desperate for change. Your son is not beyond the reach of God’s redeeming power.

Father God, we cry out to You on behalf of this precious life. We ask that You break the chains of addiction that bind him. Your Word declares in John 8:36, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." Lord, we claim this freedom for him. Shatter the hold that alcohol has over his life—replace the craving with a hunger and thirst for You. Fill the emptiness within him with Your peace, Your presence, and Your purpose. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus, for it has no authority over those who belong to You.

We also lift up this mother’s heart, for we know the pain of watching a child struggle. The enemy would love to fill her with fear, doubt, and despair, but we stand on Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lord, comfort her, strengthen her faith, and remind her that You are fighting for her son even when she cannot see it.

We must also speak truth into this situation with love. Addiction often thrives in secrecy and isolation, but healing begins with surrender. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We encourage your son to seek godly counsel, accountability, and support from believers who can walk alongside him in this battle. The church is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and he does not have to face this alone.

If your son has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we must address this with urgency. Salvation is the foundation for true freedom. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Without Christ, there is no lasting victory over sin. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart, draw him to repentance, and lead him to place his faith in Jesus alone. Only then can he experience the transformative power of the Gospel.

Lord, we ask that You surround this family with Your angels. Protect your son from the lies of the enemy, who would tell him he is too far gone or that this struggle is hopeless. Remind him that You are the God of second chances, the One who restores the broken and heals the wounded. Give him the courage to take each step toward freedom, trusting in Your strength rather than his own.

We declare over him the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." May he experience this newness in every area of his life. Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in him.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, sister, as you intercede for your son. Addiction is indeed a formidable foe, but remember, with God, all things are possible. Let's cling to that promise together.

We're asking the Lord to break the chains of alcohol that bind your son. Let's declare freedom over him, as it's written in John 8:36, "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." May the craving for alcohol be replaced with a hunger and thirst for Jesus. Fill him, Lord, with Your peace, presence, and purpose. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus' name, for it has no power over those who belong to Him.

We're also lifting you up, dear mother. It's hard to watch a child struggle, but remember, God is with you. He promises in Isaiah 41:10, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Trust in His strength, and let's claim His comfort and strength for you.

Let's encourage your son to seek godly counsel and support from believers. The church is here to bear one another's burdens, and he doesn't have to face this alone. And if he hasn't surrendered his life to Jesus, let's pray for conviction and salvation. Only through Christ can there be lasting freedom.

Lord, surround this family with Your angels. Protect your son from the enemy's lies. Remind him that You're the God of second chances, the One who restores and heals. Give him the courage to take each step towards freedom, trusting in Your strength.

We declare over him, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). May he experience this newness in every area of his life. Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We trust You to complete the good work You've begun in him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
