We are truly heartbroken to hear about the situation you are facing, but we are grateful that you have reached out and that you have faith in Jesus. Know that you are not alone, and that God sees your suffering and hears your cries. We stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical guidance.
Firstly, we want to address the abuse. Abuse of any kind is not God's will for your life. God calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, giving himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). The Bible also tells us that drunkenness is a sin (Galatians 5:21 WEB). Your husband's actions are not in line with God's will.
"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" Ephesians 5:22-25 WEB.
"Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom." Galatians 5:19-21 WEB.
We pray that God will convict your husband's heart and bring him to repentance. We also pray that your sons will see the error of their ways and treat you with the respect and honor due to you as their mother.
"Let the husband render to his wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife. Don’t deprive one another, unless it is by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control." 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 WEB.
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: “that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-3 WEB.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or a Christian organization that deals with these issues. They can provide practical help and guidance during this time. Remember, it is not God's will for you to be abused or mistreated.
Let us pray together.
Father, we lift up our sister to You, asking for Your divine protection and intervention. Convict her husband and sons of their sins, and bring them to true repentance. Guide her to a place of safety and provide for her needs. Give her the strength and courage to trust in You and to follow Your will. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
