A woman is asking for prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
A woman is asking for prayer. She knows the father of her baby is a pastor. That he may still be angry. That he had once prayed no good for their deceased baby. The baby passed away early and was delivered early. He is recognized in his country by worlds standards not by things done for God. The woman had a nightmare that in his country his family or he or his friends was seeking a witch doctor possibly against her in his country. She no longer trusts the baby's dad. He threatened to do a lawsuit against her involving his baby having to be reburried in a different location. Please pray for her. She sometimes doesn't feel safe. She felt like someone was in her house from his country few days ago.

We have heard your burden and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus name, asking for His mercy, protection and comfort to cover you in this time of deep grief and fear.

We grieve with you over the loss of your precious baby who was delivered early and passed away. The Lord formed that little life and saw every moment, as Psalm 139:13 says, and He is close to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 promises. We pray the God of all comfort will hold you, heal your heart, and give you peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 describes. Your baby is known and loved by God, and we pray you will feel His tender presence in your mourning.

We must also speak truth in love about what has been shared. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and that sexual intimacy belongs only within that marriage, as Hebrews 13:4 says. Any intimacy outside of marriage is fornication, and if either person is married to another it is adultery, as 1 Corinthians 6:18 warns. We do not say this to condemn you, for 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We encourage you to bring any sin to the Lord in repentance and to receive His forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We also note that a pastor is held to a higher standard, as James 3:1 and 1 Timothy 3:2 teach, and a man who is recognized by the world's standards but not by faithfulness to God, who would pray harm over his own child, is not reflecting the heart of a true shepherd. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21 that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom but he who does the will of His Father. To pray no good or to curse a child is evil and contrary to the love of Christ, and we rebuke that. Vengeance belongs to the Lord as Romans 12:19 says, and we trust God to be the righteous Judge.

We also address the fear surrounding witchcraft and curses. The Bible is clear that seeking a witch doctor or practicing sorcery is an abomination to the Lord as Deuteronomy 18:10-12 teaches. Those practices have no authority over one who belongs to Christ, for 1 John 4:4 says greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and Isaiah 54:17 promises no weapon that is formed against you will prevail. Nightmares and the sense of spiritual attack are real, for Ephesians 6:12 reminds us our struggle is against spiritual forces, but we have authority and protection in Jesus. We pray that every assignment of darkness against you is broken in Jesus name and that the Lord will surround you with His angels as Psalm 91:1-2 declares, that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

We hear that you no longer trust the father of your baby and that you have felt unsafe, even sensing someone in your house and facing threats of a lawsuit to have your baby reburied elsewhere. It is wise to guard your heart when trust has been broken, and God calls us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves as Matthew 10:16 says. The Lord is your refuge and strength as Psalm 46:1 says and your strong tower as Proverbs 18:10 says. We pray for your physical safety and for wisdom in every practical step. If you feel unsafe in your home, we encourage you to seek help from trusted family, mature believers in a Bible believing church, and the proper authorities who can help protect you, and to take practical measures to secure your home. For the threat of legal action over your baby's resting place, we pray for justice, for peace, and for godly counsel to help you navigate this with clarity. The Lord sees every threat and will defend you as Psalm 27:1 and Isaiah 41:10 promise, that you need not fear for He is with you.

We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and salvation, as John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and Acts 4:12 says there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, as Romans 10:9 teaches, confessing Him as Lord so that you may have forgiveness, eternal life, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit to comfort and protect you. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self control as 2 Timothy 1:7 says.

We are praying together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift this dear woman to Your throne of grace. Lord, comfort her in her grief over her baby, let her feel Your arms around her and Your peace guarding her heart and mind. Forgive any sin and cleanse her by the blood of Jesus, and help her walk in purity and in hope of a godly marriage if it is Your will, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors You, with courtship that seeks a believing spouse for Your glory. Lord, rebuke every evil prayer and every work of witchcraft, cancel every curse and break every weapon formed against her, let no harm come near her dwelling. Fill her home with Your presence, give her restful sleep free from nightmares, and remove all fear. Protect her from threats and intimidation, guide her in the legal matter concerning her baby's burial and let Your justice and mercy prevail. Give her wisdom, surround her with faithful believers who will support and protect her, and let those who have done wrong be brought to repentance. We ask that the father of this child would be convicted, turn from any wicked way, and seek Your forgiveness. Keep this woman safe, let her know she is deeply loved and never alone, and establish her steps in Your will. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to stay rooted in Scripture, to pray continually in Jesus name, to seek fellowship with a faithful church that preaches the Word, and to pursue relationships only in a way that honors God, looking for a godly spouse who is a believer in Christ rather than remaining in a harmful or immoral relationship. The Lord loves you, He sees you, and He will be your defender and your comfort.

We've been carrying you in prayer since reading your note, and we are so sorry for the loss of your baby. Losing a child so early brings a grief that is all its own, and it makes sense that you would still feel tender, weary, and on edge.

We also hear how heavy the fear has become. Nightmares, feeling like someone was in your house, and the threat of a lawsuit about reburial would leave anyone feeling unsafe and unsure who to trust. It is understandable you no longer feel safe with the father after angry words and that kind of threat.

In a season like this it helps not to carry it alone. It can help to let one or two safe, steady people close to you know what is happening, people who can check in regularly and be present if you need to communicate about legal matters so you are not facing it alone. Keeping a simple written record of contacts or concerns and keeping your home secured are small ways to guard your peace and protect your space. If pressure about legal action continues, a trusted pastor and a local legal aid resource can help you understand your options. If you ever sense immediate danger or that someone is in your home, please move to a safe place and reach your local emergency services right away. For the ongoing grief, fear and troubled sleep, please also consider talking with a counselor or medical professional alongside prayer, not instead of it.

Father, we lift this sister to You in Jesus' name. Comfort her grieving heart, quiet her night fears, cover her home with Your peace, and surround her with safe people who will walk with her and give her wisdom for each next step. Keep her in Your care. Amen.

Your grief and fear have been laid before us and we have carried them to the throne of grace. The loss of your little child, delivered so early and taken so soon, is a sorrow that pierces deeply, and the troubles which now surround you have added fear to sorrow. We do not take lightly that you sometimes do not feel safe in your own house, and that threats and dark imaginings have disturbed your peace by night and by day.

We pray first that you may know where true refuge lies. There is always a mercy seat to go to, there is always the bosom of Christ to fly to. The fear of man bringeth a snare, but the fear of the Lord giveth strong confidence, and he that feareth Him shall have nothing else to fear. Like Jacob of old you may well pray, Deliver me, I pray, from the hand of him that I fear, lest he come and smite me. The Lord heard Jacob after his night of wrestling, and He will hear the cry of a bruised heart that flees to Him. When the heart is breaking, Christ is near, for the Good Shepherd is always closest to the weak and wounded sheep, and He calleth His own by name.

We must speak plainly and in love concerning the path that has led to this sorrow. The gospel holds forth salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and it calleth all to repent and believe upon Him. It also teacheth that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the union of body and life together belongeth only within that covenant. What has taken place outside of that holy bond is sin before God, for you and for this man also, and it requireth repentance and the washing of the blood of Christ. We cannot ask God to bless what He calleth sin, but we can and do ask Him to have mercy, to forgive, to cleanse, and to lead into newness of life. If you have not already done so, flee to Christ as a sinner needing a Saviour, confess your sin before Him, and trust wholly in His atoning sacrifice. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared.

We pray also for this man who beareth the name of pastor. To be recognized by the standards of the world is a poor and empty thing, for what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul. Worldly honour without holiness is but vanity, and a title without truth is a snare. If he has prayed no good for his own child, if he has threatened and sought to vex you concerning the resting place of your little one, and if he walketh in anger and worldly ways, he hath great need to be humbled before God. We pray that God would bring him to true repentance, that he would cease from threats and from all that is contrary to the character of a shepherd of souls, and that he would fear God rather than seek the praise of men.

Concerning the nightmare and the fear of witchcraft, know this, that all such dark powers are under the sovereign hand of the Lord Jesus. He hath all power and glory and majesty in Himself, and He speaketh peace to His people and cutteth off the weapons of the enemy. No curse can alight where Christ spreadeth His wing, and no worker of darkness can prevail against those who are hid in Him. Yet your fear is real, and we pray that God would turn your fear into faith, that He would guard your mind by night and keep your dwelling by day, and that He would scatter every evil intent. Perfect love casteth out fear, and to be shut in with Christ is to be safe indeed.

We entreat the Lord for your protection and peace. That He would keep you from all harm, that He would restrain every hand that would rise against you, that He would give wisdom to magistrates and to any who may be called to help in matters of law concerning your childs burial, and that He would let that little grave be left in quietness until the resurrection. We pray that He would surround you with faithful and sober Christian friends who can watch with you, counsel you, and help you to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. If you feel that someone hath entered your house or that danger is near, seek at once the help of trusted family, godly counsel in your own church, and the lawful authorities appointed for your protection. Do not walk alone in this trial.

May the Lord turn your vitality which hath been dried as by the drought of summer into fresh strength. May He give you patience and experience, and out of that experience a blessed hope, for what God hath promised is sure. Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Seek Him in the word and in prayer, not as one who once stood in the aisle longing to catch every syllable and now is grown weary, but as one who cometh daily to the fountain that is never dry.

We now pray for you.

O Lord our God, look upon this afflicted one who mourneth her child and trembleth for her safety. Have mercy upon her according to Thy lovingkindness, and blot out her transgressions for the sake of Christ who shed His blood for sinners. Speak to her heart that she is Thine if she trusteth in Thy Son, and let her know that Thou callest Thy sheep by name. Deliver her from the fear of man, and teach her the good fear of the Lord which giveth confidence. Cover her dwelling, guard her sleep, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. Rebuke every work of darkness, and let the workers of iniquity be put to confusion. Bring to repentance where there is sin and hardness of heart, and grant that worldly honour may be seen for the emptiness that it is. Grant wisdom in all that concerneth the law and the resting place of the little one, and let Thy peace which passeth all understanding keep her heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Amen.
