We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern and hope as we lift up your child beginning Term 3. Father God, we ask that You would go before him, preparing his path and surrounding him with Your protection and peace. Guard his health, Lord, strengthen his body, mind, and spirit so that he may thrive in every way. We pray against any illness, fatigue, or distraction that could hinder his focus or joy in learning. Fill his days with wisdom, understanding, and favor as he engages in his studies.

We also ask that You would draw his heart closer to You, Lord. May he grow not only in knowledge but in faith, recognizing Your hand in every part of his life. Surround him with godly friends and mentors who will encourage him in righteousness, and give him discernment to resist any negative influences. Help him to honor You in his words, actions, and attitudes, reflecting Christ in all he does.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or discouragement that may try to take hold of him. Remind him that he is never alone, You are with him always, guiding and sustaining him. Give him confidence in Your love and purpose for his life.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone brings true peace and hope. Amen.

May the Lord bless your child abundantly this term and beyond, filling his days with joy, growth, and His presence. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your child’s paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not alone in this journey, God is faithful, and His promises are sure.

We join you in praying for your child as this new term begins, and we’re lifting up their health right alongside you. Starting a fresh term can bring a swirl of excitement, nerves, and new germs, so it makes sense that both of these concerns are on your heart this morning.

One small step you might take today, whenever you next have a quiet moment together, is simply to ask your child, “What are you most looking forward to this term? And what feels a little hard?” Listening well and then praying briefly together, even just a sentence out loud, can steady them more than we realize. Sometimes our steady presence does more than all the right words.

Lord, we bring this child before You now, asking You to guard their health, their mind, and their spirit as they walk into this new term. Give them energy for learning, good friendships, and protection from illness and injury. Grant this parent deep peace and wisdom for each decision, big or small. Quiet the anxious thoughts and replace them with quiet confidence in Your faithful care. Surround the whole family with Your strength, and let this term be marked by health, growth, and Your kindness. We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Many a trembling heart sends up this same petition, laden with care for a beloved child. How easily we forget that He who gave the child is mightier to keep than we are to fear. You have brought the request to the house of prayer, and that is well, for the promise stands sure, He shall give His angels charge over him, to keep him in all his ways. This protection is perpetual and personal; it reaches the child setting out for his term, and it compasses the little one through every hour of study and play. Health, too, lies in the hand of Him who fashioned the frame and knows our dust. Commit the boy into those pierced hands that blessed the infants long ago.

Yet while we seek temporal mercies, let us never forget the weightier matter. Many a father is anxious for the body but negligent of the soul. Will you lead your own child to happiness in this world, and by prayerlessness leave him to perish in the world to come? Pray rather that the Lord would teach him to do His will. That is the very best prayer for his protection, for he who walks in the way of the Lord is kept under the shadow of the Almighty. Ask that this term, the Spirit of God may call him with that still small voice which Samuel heard, and that he may answer, "Speak, Lord; for Your servant hears." A child taught of God is a child safe in the furnace of affliction and the flood of temptation.

The weaned child upon the mother's bosom is a picture of the soul quieted in God. Do not think it too high a blessing for one so young. The same grace that humbles the proud and breaks the stubborn will can tame the restless heart of a child and lay it contented on the heart of Christ. He knows what the child cost Him, for to redeem a little one from going down into the pit, He bore the penalty due to justice. Therefore, lift up your heart, or you cannot lift up your child. Plead the precious blood, rest on the covenant promise, and then go to the throne with holy boldness. The child is a holy trust; sin not against him by feeble faith.

Look for a blessing in the dark as well as in the light. If the child should walk in gloom, as even children of light sometimes do, still trust the guiding Shepherd. He has led the blind by a way they knew not. Sing unto the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things. Return now to your home and on your knees rehearse this vow: "I will praise You, O Lord, for my child's body and soul are in Your keeping." The Spirit of God is able to make the youngest scholar wise unto salvation, for to save the smallest child in the Sunday school needs the same power that raised Christ from the dead. That power is not slack. Let your heart be at peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask prayer for your child’s schooling and bodily health, yet examine your request: are these the true goods? Too often we care for the things that belong to the child, the books, the marks, the strong body, more than the child himself. What profit if the term passes successfully and the body thrives, but the soul lies neglected, still in bondage under the rudiments of this world? Judge not according to appearance. The Lord made a whole man healthy, not partially healed in flesh alone, but restored in soul. Seek that wholeness first.

Why does God permit some children to be weak in body or slow in learning? Because earthly advantages are indifferent, often bestowed on those low in His esteem, withdrawn from the righteous that they may cling to heaven. Do not therefore pray as a pagan, anxious for passing things, as though God did not know the child’s state. Christ rebuked the nobleman for such unbelief, healing the father’s soul more than the son’s body. Consider: if after a forty-day piety you return to worldly fretting, have you not lost the labor? A sufficiency of food and care is both nourishment and health; excess brings disease to body and soul alike. Offer your child into God’s hands, but let your chief prayer be that he be numbered among the holy, those who partake of the spiritual fountain with a clean heart. And you, as parent, contribute the talent you have, whether teaching, reproof, or daily example, for the common advantage of his salvation. Nothing is so pleasing to God. When the tutor is stern and the world reproaches, teach him to bear it nobly, for out of such opposites God works a wholesome result. Pray for his soul, and your own, and then trust the rest to the Father’s care.

It is a privilege to pray with you for your child as he starts this new term. Rightly we ask for his health and for every provision he needs to learn and grow. Our Father has compassion on our children, and we can bring them confidently before His throne of grace.

Even a child is known by his doings, and God knows every trait, every need, and every struggle your son will face this school term. But being a child of God does not shield us from problems or illness. Instead, it places us inside the faithful care of the One who walks with us through each hardship. Ask the Lord for wisdom as you train him in the way he should go, not just for success but for a heart that follows after Christ. The goal is a soul anchored in truth, for a child left merely to his own way will cause grief, yet faithful instruction, though it may stutter and stumble like learning to walk, plants seeds that will bear fruit when he is old.

Let us also pray for his health. Once a mother watched her child suffer terribly from something the child had swallowed, and the healing came through the prayer of a believer who simply held the child and cried out to God. The Lord can restore what has been damaged and bring strength where there is weakness. Trust His timing, for He ordains peace for those who lean on Him.

True peace is not the world’s shaky armistice but the calm assurance that comes when we rest our case fully in His hands. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” You can have peace with God through faith in Christ, and day by day you can know the peace of God keeping your heart and mind as you keep your eyes fixed on Him. That peace will guard you as you entrust your child to the Lord.

So I join you: Father, thank you for this child and for the new term ahead. Keep him healthy and strong. Shield him from harm and surround him with good influences. Give his parent wisdom, patience, and a steady trust in your great care. And grant that even now, peace, real, abiding, perfect peace, would rule in that home, because their minds are stayed on you. In Jesus’ name.

We are so thankful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to lift your precious child before the Lord as he began this new term. It has been on our hearts to continue standing in agreement with you, praying for his protection, focus, and especially his health as he navigates the days ahead.

If God has already moved in mighty ways—whether through strength in his studies, joy in his friendships, or wellness in his body—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you! If the answer hasn’t yet come in the way you hoped, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to intercede alongside you, trusting that our Heavenly Father hears and cares deeply for your child.

May the Lord surround your family with His peace and wisdom, guiding each step of this term with His perfect love. We continue to pray in Jesus’ Name.
