Your prayer has been heard and the weight you are carrying is clear. The repeated disappointment in searching for work, the tension in your marriage, the feeling of being controlled and talked about, and the pain of betrayal are heavy burdens, and it is right to bring them to God.

God invites you to cast all your worries on Him because He cares for you, and He also calls us to pray according to His will. For that reason I cannot ask God to bless you leaving your marriage, to make another man seem lesser, or to bring harm upon your wife so that she reaps what she has sown. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He calls us to desire repentance and restoration rather than revenge. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman before God, and sex belongs only within that covenant. When that covenant is broken, the right prayer is not for God to punish, but for God to bring conviction, healing, forgiveness, and either true reconciliation or wise and godly counsel if you are considering what to do next. I will pray that God works in both your hearts to turn toward Him, to speak truthfully, to forgive as Christ has forgiven us, and to seek help from a trusted pastor or counselor rather than spreading the struggle to many people.

The hurt around communication is also important to bring to God. It is understandable to feel discouraged when you share good news and do not get the job, and to feel trapped when you are criticized for not sharing and also for not providing. God calls husbands and wives to deal honestly and kindly with one another and not to use money, housing, or transportation as leverage. Pray for wisdom to have calm and honest conversation, to set healthy patterns, and to seek counsel that honors God and protects the privacy of your home while still giving you support.

For your practical needs, God promises to provide what we need and He calls us to be faithful stewards at the same time. Continue to be diligent in seeking work, and ask God for strength and favor in each interview while trusting His provision even when doors close. For the speeding ticket, it is wise to take responsibility and make a plan to pay it yourself rather than counting on a promise that has often been broken. For the phone, bus pass, food, housing and other daily needs, ask God for provision for what is necessary for health and for work, remembering that care for the body is for health and not for vanity or excess. God sees your needs and He also calls us to labor honestly, to live within what He provides, and to trust Him one day at a time rather than demanding a way out on our own terms.

Let me pray for you in a way that honors Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God.

Father in heaven, I lift up this brother to you through Jesus Christ. Take his anxiety and teach him to trust you more deeply. Provide for his daily needs, open a door for honest work, and give him wisdom and self control in his home. Bring conviction where there is sin, comfort where there is betrayal, and healing where there is anger. Teach both husband and wife to speak truth in love, to turn from unfaithfulness, to forgive, and to seek godly counsel. Guard his heart from desiring revenge and help him to desire what is holy and right. Give him patience, humility, and clarity for the next faithful step, and let him find his hope and identity in Christ alone. In Jesus name, amen.
