We hear your heart, dear sister, and we stand with you in bringing these burdens before our Heavenly Father. The weight of financial strain and the pain of watching a loved one struggle with alcohol is heavy, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us lift these concerns to the Lord together, trusting in His power to intervene and provide.
First, we must address your husband’s drinking with both truth and grace. The Bible warns us that wine is a mocker and strong drink a brawler, whoever is led astray by it is not wise (Proverbs 20:1). Alcohol can become a snare, not only to the one who drinks but to the entire family. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name, declaring that it has no place in your home or marriage. We pray that your husband would turn from this struggle and seek the Lord’s deliverance. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray for his salvation, for it is only through Jesus that true freedom is found (John 8:36). If he is a believer, we ask that the Holy Spirit convict him deeply and lead him to repentance and restoration.
We also pray for wisdom and strength for you, sister. It is not easy to watch someone you love battle this, but remember that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone in this. We encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a Christian counselor, who can walk alongside you both. Pray for your husband daily, not with bitterness, but with a heart that desires his healing and the restoration of your marriage. Love him as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), but do not enable his sin. Set boundaries that honor God and protect your own heart and well-being.
Now, regarding your financial struggles, we lift this burden to the Lord with faith. He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8), and He has promised to provide for His children. We pray that God would open doors for those two freelance jobs you desire, not just for income, but for fulfillment and purpose in your work. The Lord is your Shepherd, and you shall not be in want (Psalm 23:1). We declare that He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Do not let fear or anxiety overwhelm you, for God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and her burdens. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction in her husband’s life. Soften his heart, convict him of his need for You, and lead him to repentance. Restore their marriage, Father, and let Your peace reign in their home. We rebuke the spirit of alcohol and declare that it has no power here. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in freedom and righteousness.
Lord, we also ask for Your provision in her life. Open doors for those freelance jobs that align with her skills and passions. Provide for her needs in ways that bring glory to Your name. Remove the clouds of worry and anxiety, and replace them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her faith, Father, and remind her that You are her Provider, her Protector, and her Peace.
We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers and that You are working even now. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Sister, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). The enemy would love to keep you weighed down by fear and discouragement, but God has not given you a spirit of fear. Stand on His promises, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you. You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and watch how He moves in your life.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
