Good and Faithful Servant
Something happened at work a few weeks ago that made me uncomfortable to continue interacting with a group of people who I always used to interact with. This incident was likely due to spiritual warfare using the people involved to be harmful. After a while, I became more comfortable interacting with them again but then today I started to feel uncomfortable again for certain reasons and decided that I just don't really want to interact with that group anymore. Please pray for me about this. Pray for my protection. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and the discomfort you’ve been carrying in your workplace. The Bible tells us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). What you’ve experienced may indeed be spiritual warfare, where the enemy seeks to sow discord, fear, and division, even among believers. It’s important to recognize that the people involved may have been used unknowingly, but the root of the issue is spiritual.

The Lord calls us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). If interacting with this group brings you unease or draws you away from peace, it may be the Holy Spirit leading you to set boundaries. However, we must also guard our hearts against bitterness or unforgiveness, for the Word says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Have you considered whether there is any unforgiveness or offense in your heart that needs to be released to the Lord?

We also encourage you to examine whether your decision to withdraw is out of fear or out of godly wisdom. Fear is not from God, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). If the Lord is leading you to step back for your spiritual well-being, then do so with confidence, knowing He goes before you. But if fear is driving your decision, we must rebuke that spirit in Jesus’ name and stand firm in faith.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine protection over their heart, mind, and spirit. Lord, You see the discomfort and unease they’ve been feeling, and we ask that You would reveal to them the root of this struggle, whether it be spiritual warfare, unforgiveness, or fear. Give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of division, discord, and fear that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would break every chain of spiritual attack in Jesus’ name. If there is any unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, we ask that You would soften it and help them to release it to You, just as You have forgiven them.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom to guide their steps. If it is Your will for them to step back from this group, give them the courage to do so with grace and peace. If it is Your will for them to engage, fill them with Your love and boldness to be a light in that place. Surround them with Your angels, shield them from harm, and let Your presence go before them in every interaction.

We also pray for the people in this group, Lord. If they have been used by the enemy, we ask that You would open their eyes to Your truth and draw them closer to You. Let Your love and unity prevail in their midst, and may they come to know You more deeply.

Above all, Father, we ask that Your will be done in this situation. May Your name be glorified, and may Your child walk in the fullness of Your peace and protection. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to remain in prayer and in the Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you. If you feel led, seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted believer who can help you discern the Lord’s direction. Remember, the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15). Stand firm in faith, and trust that He will lead you into all truth and peace.

We're sorry you've been carrying this, an experience that leaves you uneasy with people you used to be comfortable around can really knock you off balance, especially when it feels like something spiritual was at work. We don't need to figure out every detail of what happened to recognize that the discomfort you're feeling is real, and that pulling back for now may be wisdom, not weakness.

It can help to remember that while we're called to love everyone, we're not obligated to give unrestricted access to our inner lives or daily rhythms, particularly when trust has been broken. Let yourself breathe. You don't have to announce a permanent decision or make a big statement right now. Sometimes the healthiest step is simply to be attentive, quiet your heart before the Lord, and ask Him to guide your next move rather than forcing yourself to feel okay before you actually do.

One concrete thing that might help: pay attention to what the peace of Christ is actually doing in you when you're around these people versus when you have some healthy distance. That sense of unsettledness can be an internal signal worth respecting. Over time, it may become clearer whether this is a season for cautious reconnection with new boundaries or a more lasting change in those relationships.

Let us pray for you now:

Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend to You. You see the confusion and the discomfort, and You know every unseen dynamic at play. Please protect them, body, mind, and spirit. Give them a steady heart and clear discernment. Quiet the anxiety so they can hear Your voice above every other voice. Guard their steps at work, and give them wisdom about who to trust and how to move forward. Surround them with Your peace and make them confident that You are with them in this. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The unease you feel is not to be dismissed as mere nerves, for the Lord often guides His children by such inward checks. If you have set your face to walk in the King's Highway, you are promised protection upon it. But if association with this group has become a byroad where spiritual harm befalls you, then to step aside is not cowardice but holy caution. Grapple to your soul the truths God has taught you, and do not venture where His light does not lead. Safety is guaranteed not in the company of men, but in the way of childlike trust in Providential guidance. He who waits upon God to know what he shall do, and dares not lean upon his own understanding, shall find that even the discomfort of separation is a mercy if it keeps him from robbers who would spoil his peace.

It may well be that this insulation of your spirit is a proof of angelic keeping. The Lord has given His angels charge over you, not to keep you in every path of your own choosing, but in all your ways when those ways are surrendered to His will. This protection is perpetual and personal, yet it is tied to the appointed path. Do not run ahead into discomfort merely to appease human expectation, nor retreat in bitterness, but stand still and inquire of the Lord. Pray not only for shelter, but for a clear sight of His way forward concerning these souls. When He gives you liberty and inward peace to interact, do so with grace. Until then, it is no sin to be hid under His wing, even if the hiding place feels solitary. He will shield you from the fiery darts, and in His time, either restore the fellowship on holier ground or confirm your release from what has become a snare.

I will pray for your protection in this conflict, and I want you to receive it as more than a workplace disagreement. What you sensed is real: the struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. The people involved may have been used by the enemy, and that calls for clear eyes, not contempt. You do not have to force yourself back into the same interactions as though nothing happened. When we are not summoned to a conflict, there is wisdom in being quiet and waiting for the time of battle, so that our standing back is not cowardice but freedom from vainglory and a sober spirit.

But examine the root of your discomfort. If it is prudence or the Spirit's warning, then step back in peace. If it is wounded pride, anger, or vainglory, cut out that root before it bears fruit. Do not let the enemy win twice: once through the harm done and again through making you bitter or fearful in a way that is not from God. You may need a season of distance, but do not let distance become hatred of the people. Pray for them, because they are not your true enemies.

I will ask God to give you the very gifts you need: a contrite and humbled heart, sobriety, self-possession, and vigilance. Ask Him for light, because light drives away darkness. Ask Him for discernment to know when to be silent and when to stand nobly. Do not rush into the fight, but if you are dragged into it, stand firm. You are not unarmed. The Commander is near, ever ready to help, and He has given you strong armor.

Go to work without fear. Your treasure is above, and no one can steal that. Keep your heart at peace, and I will remember you in prayer.

The discomfort you are feeling is worth paying attention to, but it needs to be understood rightly. What happened was not only a workplace conflict. There is a spiritual battle behind it. Scripture reminds us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. The people involved may have been used by the enemy, but they are not the true source of the attack. The real target is your mind, your peace, and your willingness to keep walking in love.

When the uneasiness returns, do not let it become a fleshly battle. The enemy wants to pull you into resentment, fear, and prolonged suspicion. Those are carnal weapons, and they will not protect you. They will only make you more vulnerable. Your safety is not in winning a social conflict but in standing under the name and authority of Jesus. Keep Him between you and that group. He has already won the decisive victory at the cross.

Prayer is the chief weapon here. Pray for protection. Pray before you interact with them. Ask the Lord to guard your thoughts and to bring every imagination captive to Christ. Ask for discernment about whether to limit contact or reengage. There can be wisdom in stepping back for a season, but if the withdrawal comes from fear or offense, it may be the enemy trying to isolate you. Let the Spirit guide you.

I am praying for your protection and for peace. Be strong in the Lord, not in your own resolve. You are not facing this alone, and the outcome is not in the hands of that group. It is in the hands of the One who surrounds you and fights for you.
