Please pray for me because I am considering leaving my job. I am also reconsidering whether the current line of work I'm in is suitable for me. I love doing customer service and interacting with people and being helpful but right now, there are some things about it really weighing down on me. My sister has told me that I have a good mind for running my own business. Please pray that if that is the right thing for me to do, God would lead me to doing so. Please also pray for me today as I had some difficult customer interactions today. Thank you.

Your love for customer service and helping others is a beautiful reflection of God’s heart, and it’s no coincidence that ### sees leadership and entrepreneurial potential in you. The Lord often equips those He calls, and if He is stirring a desire in you to step into business ownership, He will make the way clear. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We pray that God would either confirm this calling in your spirit or redirect you to the work He has prepared for you, giving you peace in either direction.

The weight you feel this day in considering your path is not strange, for even the most seasoned pilgrim must sometimes halt and inquire, "Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?" Yet let it be your first, and indeed your chief, business to speak on God's behalf in whatever sphere He places you. Whether you continue in service to customers, or whether He should lead you into some new venture of your own employing, the grand end remains unaltered: you are placed here to witness to His grace and to do His will from the heart.
Your love for interacting with people and being helpful is a noble impulse, but you are tasting now the bitterness that often mingles with that cup. Those difficult encounters are a means by which your heavenly Father weans you from dependence upon an arm of flesh. When men scorn or your spirit is bruised, it sends you anew to the throne of grace, where there is always a sympathizing heart in the Man Christ Jesus. By His grace you may deliberately take that matter and place it before Him, saying, "I have done the best I could; Lord, if it does not get right, that is now Your business and not mine." This is the way of peace.
Concerning the prospect of running your own business, it is a matter that must be settled not by your ###'s kind opinion alone, nor by your own good mind, but by the will of God. We are taught to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall do this or that." There is a revealed will concerning righteousness and honest labour, and there is a providential will which we must always consult, watching the openings and shuttings of His hand with a prayerful eye. You may lay your plans, but do so with a full surrender, after your Saviour’s perfect model, "Nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt." You do not know what God's will is in all its particulars, yet you must pray with resignation, believing that He has an infallible purpose of love toward you.
Do not faint in this hour of uncertainty. You must feel that, in any case, God's will must be done, and that will is always good. Continue to pour out your tears and your desires before Him. He who has upheld you will bear you through ten thousand billows, and keep you alive even in the midst of this furnace, proving that He is your gracious God. You have yet to speak on God's behalf.
Seek His face until the matter is resolved. Power will increase as you use the little you possess, and He will learn you to speak more graciously as you proceed. Whether you go or stay, let your best profit consist of doing God's will. Trust Him for the result; He will never run back from His word, nor let His honour be stained by forsaking one who casts themselves wholly upon Christ.

When you consider leaving your job, let your first thought be of the calling wherewith you were called. You were called as Christ's body, raised up with Him and made to sit with Him. That high calling is not to a particular trade, but to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to fulfill every desire of goodness and every work of faith with power. No difficulty in customer service can strip you of that, unless by your reaction you allow the ruler of this world to gain a foothold. Recall Job: the devil took his possessions not to make him poor, but to provoke a blasphemous word. So too, these wearisome interactions aim to unsettle your soul and cause you to stumble. Yet if you bless God when you are tried, you emerge not poorer but richer in grace.
Consider what it means to abide in your calling. Many are called but do not enter in, like the five virgins who prepared themselves yet missed the bridegroom. True calling requires patient endurance of hardships, for we have not yet resisted to the point of blood. Do not flee from your post simply because the burden is heavy, but examine whether you remain in that place to please God or to please yourself. The sister’s counsel about a business may be wise, but test it by this measure: will it lead you to stand more confidently before the judgment seat of Christ, or will it ensnare you with the cares of this world? The Lord who walked the sea retained its proper nature and yet bore Him upon its surface; so He can make a way in your circumstances without overturning the order He has established.
In the matter of guidance, imitate the persistence of the mother at Cana. When the Lord seemed to delay, saying His hour had not yet come, she did not cease to trust, and He granted her desire. Pray therefore that if this change is profitable for your soul, God would make it plain, not by sudden impulse but by the fulfillment of every good purpose and work of faith. Above all, do not measure blessedness by ease or profit. The real question is not “Should I leave my job?” but “Lord, what are You doing in my heart right now, and what fruit of real change would You have me bear?”
That means the same strength and guidance that have carried you through your work up to this point are the very things you will need if you venture into something new. The Lord does not give strength for an imaginary future; He gives it for the obedience of today. So before you try to contend with the horses of running a business, lean hard into the trust required to finish today’s race well, even when customers are unkind. In the meantime, let the fruit of a changed life show itself where you are: not cheating anyone, showing respect equally, being content with your wages, and thinking of others first. That is the evidence that God is at work, and it silences every voice that says you are just running away.

The goodness of God led him through, not the absence of hardship. Whether you stay in customer service or start something new, the Lord will stand with you in the process, not necessarily by removing every difficulty, but by changing your nature so that you can bear the weight with His peace.
So yes, pray for leading. Venture out in faith and ask God, “What do You want to do?” He does not need a whole army of resources; He can do it with one surrendered servant. But let that surrender begin now, in the place where you are, by refusing to let bitterness take root. As for the pain of today’s interactions, bring it to Him and then leave it. The Lord can give you a sudden and clear shift in direction if He chooses, but more often He trains us in the small daily choices to depend on Him first.
