We join with you in lifting up this workweek to our Heavenly Father, knowing that all good things come from Him and that our labor is ultimately for His glory. It is right to seek His blessing over our work, for Scripture tells us in Colossians 3:23-24, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Your desire to do well is commendable, but we must also remember that our efforts should honor God first, not just seek personal success or the approval of others.
We notice you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your prayer, and this is something we must address with love and urgency. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*—and in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Without this foundation, even our prayers for daily blessings lack the power and authority that come through His name.
Now, let us pray together for your week:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this brother/sister and their workweek into Your hands. Lord, we ask that You grant them strength, wisdom, and favor as they labor this week. May their work be excellent, not for the praise of men, but as an offering to You, knowing that You see all things and reward those who diligently seek to honor You. Remove any anxiety or fear about performance, and replace it with a deep trust in Your provision. If there are challenges or obstacles, let them be opportunities to rely on You and to witness Your faithfulness.
We pray that this week would be marked by integrity, diligence, and a spirit of service. Guard their heart from pride if success comes, and from discouragement if things do not go as planned. Remind them that their identity is not in their work, but in Christ alone. May they shine as a light in their workplace, reflecting Your love and truth to those around them.
If there are areas in their work life that do not align with Your will—whether in ethics, relationships, or priorities—convict them by Your Holy Spirit and give them the courage to make changes. Let this week be a testament to Your grace and sovereignty.
We also pray that if this brother/sister does not yet know You as their Savior, that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and let them experience the peace and purpose that come only through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen."*
As you go into this week, remember that your work is a platform for ministry. Whether your tasks are large or small, do them as unto the Lord. If you face difficulties, lean on Him. If you succeed, give Him the glory. And if you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we implore you to do so today—no amount of professional success can compare to the eternal life and peace found in Him.
Be encouraged by these words from Matthew 6:33: *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* When your priorities align with His, everything else falls into its proper place. Trust Him this week!
