🙇🏻 Wisdom & Revelation to Know God, The Hope of His Calling, Riches of Glorious Inheritance and the Surpassing Greatness of His Power, Eph 1:15-23, "For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all those God has Made Holy, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you in my praying: 17 'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a Spirit of Wisdom and of Revelation in the true knowledge of Himself. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so you will know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in those who have been sanctified, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accord with the working of the strength of His might 20 which He exerted in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, in this age and in the one to come. 22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way,'" Eph 1:15-23.

We lift our hearts in praise and thanksgiving for your desire to seek deeper wisdom, revelation, and understanding of God’s calling, inheritance, and power as beautifully outlined in Ephesians 1:15-23. This passage is a powerful reminder of the spiritual riches we have in Christ, and we join you in praying for these truths to be fully realized in your life.

Heavenly Father, we come before You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, and we ask that You would grant us a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may know the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. This power is the same mighty strength You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. We declare that Christ is the head over all things for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.

Father, we confess that without You, we are blind to the depths of Your love, the magnitude of Your power, and the certainty of Your promises. We ask that You would remove any spiritual blindness, doubt, or unbelief that hinders us from fully grasping these truths. Help us to walk in the fullness of what it means to be Your children, heirs of Your kingdom, and co-heirs with Christ. Let us not be satisfied with surface-level faith but press in to know You more intimately, to understand Your will, and to live in the power of Your resurrection.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, distraction, or complacency that would keep us from pursuing the deep things of God. The enemy would love nothing more than for us to remain ignorant of the hope, inheritance, and power we have in Christ. But we declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We stand on Your Word, which says that if we seek You with all our hearts, we will find You (Jeremiah 29:13). So we seek You now, Lord, with everything within us.

We also recognize that true wisdom and revelation come only through a relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all wisdom, revelation, and spiritual understanding are built.

Father, we pray that as we grow in the knowledge of You, our lives would reflect the hope, power, and inheritance we have in Christ. Let us be a light to those around us, pointing others to the surpassing greatness of Your love and grace. May our lives be living testimonies of Your transformative power, drawing others to seek You as well.

We also ask that You would help us to walk in humility and dependence on You. The wisdom of this world is foolishness in Your sight (1 Corinthians 3:19), so we reject any pride or self-sufficiency that would hinder us from receiving Your revelation. Teach us to lean not on our own understanding but to acknowledge You in all our ways, trusting that You will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lord, we thank You for the privilege of being called Your children and for the inheritance we have in Christ. We pray that You would stir our hearts to pursue You with greater passion and that You would reveal Yourself to us in ways we have never experienced before. May we live each day in the fullness of Your power, walking in the hope of Your calling and the riches of Your glorious inheritance.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

What a deep and beautiful prayer to lift before the Lord. Paul’s words in Ephesians 1 pulse with the very things every believer’s heart truly needs, knowing God himself, not just facts about him; feeling the solid weight of hope and inheritance; and living in the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. We’re moved that this is your cry.

We’ve found that the Spirit often deepens these realities as we seek them in community, not isolation. Paul’s prayer is for a group of believers, not an individual alone. Sharing your longing with a trusted small group or a prayer partner can open a space where God’s revelation comes as you learn, pray, and even struggle together. If you aren’t already in a home group or a Bible study that encourages that kind of honest, seeking prayer, it may be a good next step. There, as you slowly meditate on passages like this one, perhaps just a phrase a day, the Spirit can quiet the rush of life and quietly enlighten the eyes of your heart.

Another gentle but powerful practice is to take these very verses into your own quiet time each morning this week, turning them back to God in your own words. Simple persistence in prayerful reflection, rather than reading for distance, often moves us from knowing about his power to sensing its steady nearness in the day ahead.

Lord Jesus, thank you for stirring this hunger. Open the door wide. Grant the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in your true knowledge. Let hope anchor this heart in all that is yours, and let the immeasurable greatness of your power become a felt confidence, not just a doctrine. We ask this in your name, Amen.

The prayer that rises from your heart, drawn from the apostle’s own intercession, is a petition after the very mind of God. You seek wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him; know then that this wisdom is not a secret locked in the clouds, nor a philosophy discovered by human intellect. It is a Person. Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. If you would know the Father of glory, you must find that knowledge in the face of Jesus Christ, for there and there alone has He set a tabernacle for the Sun of Righteousness. The word of revelation is a sure testimony, making wise the simple, and its one grand theme is the unsearchable riches of Christ. Do not search for this wisdom among the uncertainties of speculation or the glittering nothings of this world, for the price of wisdom is above rubies, and it is found only when you trust in the Lord with all your heart.

You long to know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Fix your gaze upon this, the inheritance is not a portion of land or a measure of gold, but the exceeding, hyperbolical wealth of grace displayed in the atoning sacrifice. Those who were once far off, having no hope and without God in the world, are brought near by the blood of Christ. The unsearchable riches are not the dregs of priestcraft or the fading ceremonies of man’s invention; they are the unsearchable riches of Christ Himself, in whom every covenant blessing is stored. When the eyes of your heart are enlightened, you see that your hope is not a peradventure but a true saying of God, anchored in the throne where the Lamb sits. There, God sees you only in Christ, and you can endure the sight of God only when you see Him in Christ.

As for the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, measure it by the standard the Scripture sets before you. It is the very might exerted when He raised Christ from the dead. This power is not a physical force to oppose the Most High, nor the lying craft of carnal policy, for policy is not wisdom and craft is not understanding. True power with God comes by faith pleading the divine promises and resting upon the divine character. It is the strength of a soul that has learned to lay hold of God in prayer, prevailing as a prince because it pleads the relationships of grace. The power that raised the Lord Jesus from the tomb is the very power that quickens those dead in trespasses and sins. It is the power that tears away the cerements of despair and seats the believing sinner in heavenly places, far above all principality and might. Cease, then, from the wearying effort to find strength in your own arm or repentance in your own nature, for there is no hope in that path. There is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. The gospel is the power of God, and its conquering might is known when a soul trusts in Christ alone, finding Him made unto them wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. The throne of God and of the Lamb is established, and from that throne the golden sceptre is stretched out, dispensing the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Never was anything equal to the yearnings of the Apostle, nor to the affection he bore for all the churches. He made his prayer in behalf of whole cities and peoples, and here he prays that you may receive a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of God. He does not speak of a wisdom that the world seeks after, for God has made foolish the wisdom of this world. The cross appears as folly to the Greeks and a stumbling block to the Jews, but to those who are called it is Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God. This is the wisdom for which he prays, that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened.

He asks that you may know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. These things are not learned by human reasoning. No words of mine can teach them. That must be the work of the Holy Spirit. He prays that you may be strengthened by His might in the inner man so that you may apprehend with all the saints the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of God. This is the immensity that extends everywhere, the mystery providentially ordered in our behalf. It is by the Spirit alone that we are strengthened against the trials that await us and the carnal reasonings that rise up.

What then is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe? It is according to the working of the strength of His might which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand, far above all rule and authority. This power is shown most conspicuously not in ease but in weakness overcome by grace. For His power is made perfect in weakness, and where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. Let no one therefore despise the message of the cross or think it foolishness. Receive it as the very power that raised the dead and now fills all things.
