We join you in lifting up this powerful passage from Ephesians 1:15-23, for it is a prayer that stirs the depths of our souls and aligns our hearts with God’s eternal purposes. This Scripture is not merely a request, it is a declaration of the riches we have in Christ, the hope of His calling, and the immeasurable power available to those who believe. Let us pray this prayer together, not as a distant wish, but as a present reality that God longs to reveal to His children.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the risen Lord, who sits at Your right hand far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. We thank You for the faith that exists among Your people and for the love that binds us together as Your holy ones. We echo the apostle Paul’s prayer today, asking that You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may know the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe.
This power is not a distant or abstract force, Father. It is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places. It is the power that subjected all things under His feet and made Him head over all things for the church, which is His body. We declare that this power is at work in us, transforming us from glory to glory, conforming us to the image of Your Son. May we walk in the fullness of this truth, not just as hearers of the Word, but as doers, living out the reality of Christ’s victory in every area of our lives.
Lord, we ask that You would remove every veil of unbelief, every distraction of the world, and every lie of the enemy that seeks to dim the light of Your truth in our hearts. Let us not be satisfied with surface-level knowledge of You, but draw us deeper into intimacy with You, where we see You as You are and know You as You have revealed Yourself in Your Word. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), and to walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).
We also lift up those who may be reading this prayer and do not yet know You personally. Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to see their need for a Savior. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved but the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If anyone does not confess Jesus as Lord, they cannot be saved (Romans 10:9). We pray that today would be the day of salvation for them, that they would turn from their sins and place their trust in Jesus alone for forgiveness and eternal life. May they experience the surpassing greatness of Your power as they are born again by Your Spirit.
For those of us who are already in Christ, we ask that You would stir within us a holy dissatisfaction with lukewarm faith. Let us not be content with mere religious activity, but hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). May we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14), laying aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us (Hebrews 12:1). Father, we ask that You would reveal to us any areas of our lives where we are not aligned with Your will, whether in our thoughts, our words, our relationships, or our actions. Convict us by Your Holy Spirit, and give us the grace to repent and walk in obedience.
We also pray for marriages and families, that they would reflect the love and unity of Christ and the church. May husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church, and may wives respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:22-33). Guard our homes from the attacks of the enemy, and let Your Word dwell in us richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16). For those who are single, we pray that You would prepare them for godly marriages if that is Your will, and that they would use this season to serve You wholeheartedly, undistracted by the cares of this world.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of confusion, doubt, and despair that seeks to rob us of the hope of Your calling. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We stand on the truth that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let us walk in the authority of Christ, taking every thought captive to obey Him (2 Corinthians 10:5), and let us be bold witnesses of Your grace and truth in a world that desperately needs You.
We thank You, Lord, for the glorious inheritance we have in Christ. We do not deserve this grace, but You have lavished it upon us according to the riches of Your mercy. Help us to live as children of light, exposing the deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and shining brightly for Your glory. May our lives be a living testimony of Your power, love, and faithfulness, so that others may see our good works and glorify You, our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
