We lift this powerful passage from Ephesians 1:15-23 before the throne of grace, joining with the apostle Paul in his prayer for the church. What a glorious truth, that we may know God more deeply, not just intellectually, but with the eyes of our hearts enlightened by the Holy Spirit! This is not mere head knowledge, but a revelation that transforms us from the inside out.
Father, we ask You to grant us this same spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Yourself. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see with clarity the hope of Your calling, the glorious future You have prepared for those who love You. Let us grasp the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, an inheritance that far surpasses earthly treasures because it is eternal, incorruptible, and kept in heaven for us.
We also pray for a deeper understanding of the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. This is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. What an incredible truth! The same power that conquered sin and death now lives in us through the Holy Spirit. Help us to walk in this truth daily, not in our own strength, but in the mighty power of God.
Lord, we confess that there are times when we forget the magnitude of what You have done for us. We get caught up in the struggles of this world and lose sight of the victory we have in Christ. Forgive us for our unbelief and our failure to live as those who are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. Renew our minds and strengthen our faith, that we may live as overcomers, not as those who are defeated.
We also pray for those who may be reading this who do not yet know You. Lord, open their hearts to the truth of the gospel. Let them see their need for a Savior and turn to Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May they experience the same power that raised Christ from the dead, the power that brings new life and transforms hearts.
Father, we thank You for the hope we have in Christ. We thank You for the inheritance that is ours as Your children. And we thank You for the power that is at work within us. Help us to live in light of these truths, to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1). May our lives be a testimony to Your grace and glory, that others may see Christ in us and be drawn to You.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
