We join with you in prayer concerning this rain and we agree with you in Jesus' name that it would not bring flooding or destruction.
We know how distressing it can be when heavy rains have caused floods before, and it is right to bring this fear to the Lord who alone has power over the heavens and the earth. Scripture reminds us that God is sovereign over all weather, who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth, who makes lightnings with the rain, who brings the wind out of his treasuries Psalm 135:7. Even the wind and the sea obey him Matthew 8:27, and we can trust that nothing is outside His control. He sat enthroned at the Flood, Yahweh sits as King forever Psalm 29:10.
We also take comfort in His promise of presence and protection, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you Isaiah 43:2. And we remember that Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those who take refuge in him Nahum 1:7.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that we can approach You through Him and that You hear our prayers. Lord, You see the rains and You know the anxiety in many hearts because of floods in the past. We ask for Your mercy and Your hand of restraint over this weather. Let this rain be a blessing to water the earth and not a cause of destruction, loss, or fear. We pray for Your protection over homes, families, roads, and communities, especially those in low lying and vulnerable areas. Give wisdom to authorities and keep all those who must travel or work in this weather safe. Calm our hearts and help us to trust in Your goodness and sovereignty, knowing that You work all things for the good of those who love You. Let this be a time where people see Your power and Your mercy and turn to You. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust Him and to cast all your worries on Him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Keep watching and praying, and thank Him even for the rain, for He sends rain on the just and the unjust Matthew 5:45 and causes all things to work together for His purposes. We stand with you, believing God for safety and peace.

Beloved of All
I prayed for this request in Jesus Name. Amen.
We're standing with you in prayer as the rain continues. We understand how heavy it feels when you've already walked through flooding before, and every new storm can bring that memory and worry right back.
We join you in asking the Lord for mercy over your community, for the rain to ease and for homes and roads to be spared from high water. We also pray for peace for you while you wait and watch, knowing you are not alone in carrying this concern.
One small step that has helped others in flood prone areas is to stay tuned to your local weather service and city or county alerts, and to have a simple plan ready, like knowing where important documents are, keeping phones charged, and agreeing with family or a neighbor how you will check on each other if needed. It does not take away the worry, but it can make the waiting a little steadier.
Father, we bring this rain and this community before You. We ask for Your protection over homes and families, for wisdom for those watching water levels, and for calm and safety in the days ahead. Give our friend rest from fear and remind them You are near and caring for them. In Jesus' name, amen.
