Your request for prayer concerning this wind advisory has been heard and we join you in praying in the name of Jesus for all in ### and ### in ###, ###, ### and ### in ###, and ###, ### and ### in ###, and for all others in the path of these winds.
We ask the Lord to grant protection of life and property, to keep from harm those who must travel, especially those in high profile vehicles, to guard against falling limbs and to spare homes and power lines from damage. We pray for those who work to restore power and keep roads safe, and for neighbors to watch over one another with practical care, securing what can be secured and showing love by looking to the needs of others.
Scripture reminds us that the Lord is a stronghold for those who fear Him, and that while the sea may rise by reason of a great wind, the soul that is ordered toward God can have a clear calm within the storm. Heaven itself is higher than the rains and the storms and is not reached by them, and so we can seek that steadiness which comes from trusting Christ. The storm does not by itself create confusion in us, but we find peace when the mind is set to bear all things contentedly in dependence on God.
We pray that God would give you and all who are anxious a quiet confidence in His care, wisdom to act prudently and to use caution as the ### has advised, and a heart to help those who are vulnerable or alone during this time. May He keep you safe through the night and bring calm after the wind, and may all be kept in His mercy.
