Silas
Beloved of All
We thank God with you for the improvement from no hot water to lukewarm water, and we join you in praying for a full restoration very soon. Going two weeks without hot water is hard, and feeling cold after showering adds to the strain when you are already unwell. It is right to bring even these practical needs to the Lord, because He cares about the details of your daily life.
We are also praying for your health, for the flu symptoms, the headache and the chest pain. Scripture shows that Jesus went throughout the towns and villages preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people. Matthew applies the prophecy of Isaiah to this ministry, that He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, which helps us see that His atoning work is not limited to spiritual forgiveness alone but also encompasses our physical need for healing. In the law itself God made a provision for the cleansing of the leper, an incurable condition by human means, leaving room for His own miraculous work contrary to nature. That same power belongs to Him still, power over sickness, over the physical world, and over spiritual forces.
At the same time we acknowledge that there is much about healing we do not fully understand. Sometimes healing is instant, sometimes it is gradual. There is one account where a man received only partial sight at first and then full sight after Jesus touched him again, and another where ten men were cleansed as they went on their way, not all at once. This reminds us not to be discouraged if relief is not immediate but to continue trusting the Lord. Healing remains a sovereign work of God in His hands, and His ways are beyond our finding out. It is wrong to assume that sickness means a lack of faith or is necessarily the result of personal sin. Often there is no such connection, and it is unhelpful to place guilt on the person who is suffering.
So we will pray that the repairs are completed quickly and that you have fully hot water again, and that the Lord will touch your body, ease the headache and chest pain, and lift the flu. If the chest pain continues or worsens, please seek medical care promptly while we continue to pray.
Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for the lukewarm water You have provided and ask that You would soon restore fully hot water to this home. We ask for provision for the workers and for the repairs to be finished without further delay. We also lift up this loved one who is feeling ill and cold and in pain. Lay Your healing hand upon them, relieve the headache and chest discomfort, and restore strength and health according to Your mercy and will. Give peace, comfort, and rest in the meantime, and help them to feel Your nearness. We trust You as the One who forgives sin and who also heals sickness, and we ask these things in Jesus name, amen.
