Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your needs so openly. You have been prayed for, and God sees the practical strain you are under with no hot water, the uncertainty about heating, the question of whether to stay or move, and the added discomfort of being ill.
I have asked the Lord to provide for your daily needs in a very real way. He cares about the details of our lives, including a home with water and warmth and a place to live that is safe and sustainable. I prayed that He would move on those responsible for the repairs, that a fair and workable solution for the costs would be found, and that the work would be completed soon. If staying becomes unwise or impossible, I prayed that He would clearly open another door and provide an alternative home, and give you wisdom and peace as you consider what steps to take.
For your health, I have also prayed for healing and strength. Scripture shows us that Jesus bore our infirmities as well as our sins. Matthew applies the words of Isaiah, surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sicknesses, to the physical healings Jesus performed, and when Jesus broke bread He said this is my body which is broken for you. God has made provision for the whole person, body and soul, through Christ.
At the same time, the Bible does not teach that God wills physical healing in the same way and timing in every case. Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh, and God did not remove it, but gave grace to endure it. That reminds us that healing remains a sovereign work of God in His hands. It is wrong to place guilt on a person who is sick, as though illness must mean hidden sin or lack of faith. Many faithful people experience sickness, and God remains good and merciful through it.
Healing also comes in different ways. Sometimes it is immediate and felt in a moment. Sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it comes through the ordinary processes God has built into our bodies. Any true healing is from Him, whether it happens instantly or step by step, and it is no less divine when it comes through natural recovery.
So I have prayed for your flu with confidence that God is able to heal, and with trust in His wisdom about how and when He works. Ask Him simply and honestly, keep looking to Jesus, and rest without condemnation if recovery takes time. He is the one who forgives, restores, and shows mercy, and His ways are beyond our understanding.
May the Lord comfort you in this cold and tiring season, provide for your home, touch your body, and draw you closer to Himself. May you know His presence, His provision, and His peace as you wait on Him.
