We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on last Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home
Apparently, they say that there won't be heating from 15th October because they couldn't agree on the repair costs, and no one wants to do the job.

We join with you in bringing this very practical and trying need before the Lord, for we know He cares about every detail of our lives, even hot water and a warm home. To go without hot water and to face the worry of having no heating as winter approaches is a real hardship, and we understand your frustration that the work promised for last Tuesday was not finished and that disagreements over costs are now delaying what is needed.

We are reminded that our Father sees our daily needs and invites us to bring them to Him. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also take comfort that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and that we can cast our burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. Psalm 55:22 Even when plans of men fail and agreements cannot be reached, we know that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to call upon Him and trust Him not only for hot water and housing, but for eternal life.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and lift up this dear one to You. You know the discomfort of cold water and the anxiety about the heating system and the coming winter. We ask for Your mighty hand upon this apartment building. We pray You would move upon the hearts of the building managers and owners to come to a fair and swift agreement about the repair costs, and that You would provide skilled workers who are willing and able to complete the job well and quickly. We ask that if it is Your will, the hot water would be restored by tomorrow and that the heating would be secured before October 15th. Lord, where there is division and delay, bring unity and diligence. If it is not possible for the repairs to be completed there, we ask that You would already be preparing an alternative home that is safe, affordable, and warm, and that You would make the way clear whether to stay or to move. Grant peace while waiting, patience in tribulation, and unwavering trust in Your provision. Help our friend to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord daily while also taking gracious and practical steps. Speak with your building management with grace and truth, for Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt. Colossians 4:6 Seek counsel from neighbors who share this burden, and explore temporary provisions the Lord may provide, whether heating water, help from friends or family, or community resources, while you wait. Be patient in tribulation and continue steadfastly in prayer. Romans 12:12 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, and He will not forsake you in this need.

We hear how exhausting this has been for you, living without hot water and not knowing when it will be restored. An ice cold shower is hard to face each day, and it is even harder when a promised repair date comes and goes with no clear answer about the heating after October 15th. It makes sense you feel unsettled and tired of waiting.

We are standing with you in prayer for a workable solution soon, whether that is the system being repaired quickly or, if a move becomes necessary, clear guidance to a safe and affordable place you can call home.

In the meantime, a couple of small steps may help you feel a bit more steady. If you are able, ask your building manager for an update in writing about the timeline and next steps, and keep a copy of any notices they have given. It can also help to talk with a neighbor or two to see what they have heard, so you are not carrying the uncertainty alone. If the uncertainty continues, your city or local tenant help office can often explain what options renters have when essential services are interrupted.

Father, we bring this need to You and ask for Your care over this home and every home in the building. Provide hot water and heat in a timely way, give wisdom to those responsible for the repairs, and give our friend peace and clear direction for what to do next. Praying for you and your hot water situation. I understand your frustration as this is unacceptable to not fix the problem in a timely manner. Please know you are not alone in your circumstances; I have dealt with the same issue many times, as well as not having any water at all. This is due to the slumlord I rent from and I can’t afford to obtain better living conditions.

Your need in these temporal affairs has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer concerning it. To be without hot water and to face the prospect of being without heating is a real trial, and we do not make light of the discomfort of showering in ice cold water or the anxiety of not knowing whether the work will be finished.

The Scripture says, What time I am afraid, I will trust in You. And again, He who trusts in the Lord, happy is he. We are taught that in temporal things, if we learn to trust in God we shall be happy. Not that we are to be idle, but acting in all prudence and uprightness we are to rely simply and entirely upon Him. We are utterly dependent upon God, who is our All in All, and it is better to trust in the Lord than to have confidence in man. Our fathers trusted in Him and were not confounded, and we have found Him a very present help in time of trouble.

We pray that the Lord in His mercy would grant a mighty solution for you. We ask Him to move upon those responsible for the building, that the repair of the heating system may be completed speedily, even by tomorrow as you have asked, according to His will. We pray that He would overrule the disagreement over costs and raise up willing hands to do the work, so that heating may not fail from the 15th of October. We ask that He who sees every need would provide hot water again to your home and give you daily comfort therein.

And if it should be His providence that you must move, we pray that He would provide an alternative home for you, a place of quietness and provision, and guide your steps clearly. May He give you wisdom to know what to do and peace in waiting upon Him.

We pray also that whether comforts abound or comforts are withdrawn, you may still joy in God. Joy in God is a solid and abiding joy, and when the comforts all go, the soul that is reconciled to God can still encourage itself in Him. May you be kept in such confidence in the love of Christ, in the power of His arm and the prevalence of His plea, that at all times you may trust in Him and in nothing be afraid.

Your request for hot water and heat in your apartment has been heard and I have brought it before the Lord with you.

I pray that God in His mercy will move upon those responsible for the repairs, that they may reach agreement on the costs and complete the work quickly and well, and that hot water would be restored to your home by tomorrow as you have asked. I ask also that He would provide for the longer need you mention regarding heating after October 15th, softening hearts where there is disagreement and opening a way where no one now wants to take the job. If it becomes necessary for you to move, I pray that He will clearly provide a suitable and peaceful alternative home for you and guide your steps to it.

These days of waiting and of cold water are a real hardship, and it is right to bring even such daily needs to God. The Scriptures teach us that patience and hope sustain each other, and both are nourished by the comfort of God's Word. To love God is to endure with patience and not be troubled in spirit, waiting for Him with trust even while afflicted. Patience is shown not in a moment but over time, and as it is written, patience works experience, and experience hope.

May the Lord keep you from discouragement and from wasting your strength in worry or anger, and instead fill you with quiet endurance, hope, and gratitude for His care. May He grant you His peace in this waiting, supply what you need for daily life, and let this trial deepen your confidence in His provision.
