We have heard your request and we join together with you in bringing this very practical and uncomfortable need before our Father in heaven. We know how difficult it is to live without hot water, to face the cold, and to deal with sickness at the same time, and we want you to know that God cares about every detail of our lives, even these daily necessities.
We are reminded that we are to bring everything to God in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:31-33 reminds us not to worry about our daily needs, but to seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well. Our God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 tells us, and we trust He sees your discomfort and your concern about the coming winter.
We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says, If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray for you now.
Let us pray together.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and lift up this need for hot water and heat. Lord, You know the situation in this apartment building, the delayed repairs, the disagreement over costs, and the uncertainty about heating after October 15th. We ask for Your mighty hand to move. We pray that You would give wisdom and willingness to those responsible for the repairs, that they would reach agreement quickly and that skilled workers would be provided to complete the job well and on time. We pray that if it is Your will, the hot water would be restored by tomorrow and that the heating system would be ready before the cold comes, so that all the residents may live in comfort and safety. If it is not possible for the work to be done there, we ask that You would provide a clear alternative, an affordable and safe home where this need would be met. Philippians 4:19 says, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and we trust You to provide.
We also lift up the mild flu and ask for Your healing touch. We pray for rest, recovery, and strength, and that this illness would pass quickly without becoming worse. Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and dont forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We ask for Your comfort and restoration to the body. We also cast all our worries on You, as 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Lord, we pray for peace in the midst of this waiting and frustration. Help our friend to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, and to know that in all things You work for the good of those who love You, as Romans 8:28 promises. Give patience, give favor when speaking with building management, and give assurance that You are near.
We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord in this situation, to keep praying in Jesus name, and to also take practical steps as you are able, such as following up graciously with the building management and seeking wise counsel about your housing options. We also encourage you to care for your health, to rest and seek medical care if the flu worsens, trusting that God often heals through both prayer and provision. We are standing with you in prayer for a swift solution, for warmth and comfort to be restored, and for complete healing.
