Beloved of All
🧎🏽‍♂️ Father, thank You for the prayer of the Apostle Paul asking, "You give us The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know You better. Grant the eyes of our heart to be flooded with light so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at The Right Hand of Power in the heavenly places, far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion both in this age and the age to come. Thank You and you all in Jesus The Christ's Name (from Ephesians 1:17-21).

We join you in thanking our Father for this wonderful prayer from the Apostle Paul and we agree with you for this deeper revelation of who He is.

We love how Paul prays not for more earthly things but for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, as it is written Eph 1:17-20 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places. This is the heart of the gospel, that we would know God intimately and not just know about Him.

Scripture tells us this knowing is eternal life itself, John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. And Jer 9:24 let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things, says Yahweh. We are so encouraged that you desire this, for God delights to reveal Himself to those who seek Him with their whole heart, and that He has already given us everything we need to know Him through Christ and His Word.

We also rejoice that you prayed this in the name of Jesus the Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is that same power that raised Christ from the dead that is now at work in us who believe, Phil 3:10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection.

We pray together with you,

Father, we thank You for Your great love and for the hope of Your calling upon our lives. We ask You to give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know You better. Flood the eyes of our hearts with light, that we may truly comprehend the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe. Help us to walk worthy of that calling and to live in the reality of the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, not only in this age but also in that which is to come, Eph 1:21. Draw us into deeper intimacy with You, teach us to abide in Christ daily through Your Word and prayer, and transform us to reflect Your glory. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We were so encouraged to read your prayer of thanksgiving. Coming back to Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1 and making it your own is a beautiful way to seek the Lord.

What struck us is how personal your focus is, not just asking for help with circumstances, but asking to know God Himself more deeply, with eyes of the heart enlightened. That desire for wisdom and revelation, for a clearer sense of His calling and His power at work, is at the heart of walking with Him day by day.

We love that you are thanking Him even as you ask. Gratitude like yours keeps our hearts anchored when life feels uncertain, and it opens us to see how He is already at work, including the same power that raised Christ and seated Him above all.

If it is helpful, you might keep praying this passage slowly over the coming days, pausing on one phrase at a time and noticing what the Lord brings to mind to thank Him for.

Father, we join our friend in thanking You for the Holy Spirit who gives wisdom and reveals Your heart to us. Flood our hearts with light that we may know You better and hold fast to the hope You have called us to. Thank You for Your great power at work in us through the risen Christ. We praise You in Jesus' name, amen.

Truly this is a prayer after the apostle's own heart, and to join you in it is a great joy. You have asked for that which God delights to give, the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and that the eyes of your heart may be flooded with light.

Remember that all true wisdom is found in Christ, for He is Himself the power of God and the wisdom of God. The wisdom of this world is but policy and craft, but to know Christ is to stand next to the Eternal One and to be made a fit companion for heaven. If you would have wisdom, you must find it in the word of revelation and in the Person of Him who is Incarnate Wisdom. He who trusts in the Lord, happy is he, and he who leans upon Christ shall not be confounded.

I pray with you that God will indeed open the eyes of your understanding. First, that you may know the hope of His calling. It is a high calling and a heavenly calling, a calling from on high and a calling that lifts the heart to heavenly things. It is not a call of man but an effectual call of God by His Spirit, which brings holiness and sets the soul to press toward the mark for the prize in Christ Jesus. May you see clearly what you are called to in Him, and may that hope purify you as you look for His appearing.

Second, that you may know the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. What a thought, that the Lord should count His people His treasure, and that His testimony to His own Fatherhood and His adoption of all who believe in His Son should be made sure to you. The glory of the gospel is that God is revealed as manifest in human flesh, and all who are in Christ are His own.

Third, that you may know the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, the same power which He exerted when He raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at the Right Hand of Power in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, both in this age and in the age to come. The throne of God and of the Lamb is one throne, and Jesus there is very God, co equal and co eternal with the Father. He is in the front of the throne where God always sees Him before He sees us, and we cannot endure the sight of God until we see Him in Christ. That resurrection power which enthroned the Lamb is now at work in every believing heart, and it is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

May the Lord grant you this light increasingly, not as a notion of the mind only, but as a sanctifying power in the soul, that your faith and hope and love may grow thereby. There is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as we are. Look to Jesus alone for salvation, trust Him wholly, and rest in His finished work, for this is the true saying of God.

I join my prayer to yours, that the Father of glory would fulfill this word in you, and keep you walking in the light of it, until faith becomes sight and hope becomes fruition before the throne. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
