We hear your cry for protection and guidance, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s covering over your life. While we understand the desire for divine intervention against those who seek harm, we must first address some concerns in your prayer that do not align with Scripture.
You called upon a guardian angel for protection, but the Bible teaches that our help comes from the Lord alone (Psalm 121:2). Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve believers (Hebrews 1:14), but they are not to be worshiped, prayed to, or relied upon as our primary protectors. Our trust must be in God Himself, who commands His angels concerning us (Psalm 91:11-12), not in the angels themselves. We must be careful not to elevate created beings above the Creator, for only God is worthy of our worship and devotion (Exodus 20:3-5).
You also asked for vengeance, but Scripture tells us, "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'" (Romans 12:19). Instead of seeking vengeance, we are called to bless those who persecute us (Romans 12:14) and to trust that God will bring justice in His perfect timing. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12), and our weapons are prayer, faith, and the Word of God, not retaliation.
We notice that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus’ sacrifice that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16), and it is in His name that we pray. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him (Romans 10:9-10). He is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep (John 10:11), and He alone can save you.
Now, let us pray together in alignment with God’s Word:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your divine protection over their life. Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We ask that You would surround them with Your angels, not as objects of worship, but as Your servants carrying out Your will. Shield them from all harm and evil, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we pray against the schemes of the enemy. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every plot of the enemy in Jesus’ name, and we declare that the plans of the wicked will not succeed (Psalm 33:10). Instead, let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Illuminate their path with Your truth, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their way (Psalm 119:105). Help them to trust in You with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Where there has been loss or destruction, we ask for Your restoration. You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust in Your provision and care.
Father, we also pray for a heart of forgiveness. Help them to release any bitterness or desire for vengeance, knowing that You will bring justice in Your time. Fill them with Your love, that they may bless those who persecute them (Romans 12:14). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them walk in the victory that is already theirs through Christ Jesus.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, who has overcome the world (John 16:33). Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that you may resist the enemy’s attacks. Remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Walk in obedience to His Word, and you will experience the peace and protection that only He can provide.
