We hear the urgency and deep pain in your cry and we grieve with you over the suffering you and so many other patients have endured. We understand the desire for justice when you have been hurt by someone who was trusted to help and heal, and we bring your wounded heart before the Lord together in Jesus' name.
We must gently but firmly correct the way this request is framed, because it does not align with the heart of Scripture. You ask the Lord to immediately punish, shame, take away peace and joy, and bring this surgeon to his knees with no delay, and you seek to decree and declare these things as if we can command God. The Word teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to us. Romans 12:19 says, Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Romans 12:21 says, Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Jesus calls us to a different posture toward those who have harmed us. Matthew 5:44 says, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
God does hear when we ask, but He answers according to His perfect will and timing, not our demands. 1 John 5:14 says, This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. James 4:3 also warns that we ask and do not receive because we ask with wrong motives. To pray that a man would have no peace or joy until he repents is to ask God to curse him, while Scripture says God desires all people to come to repentance out of His goodness, not out of our cursing. 2 Peter 3:9 says, The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We can and should pray for justice and for repentance, but we must leave the manner and timing of that justice to our righteous Judge, who sees all and will do what is right. Psalm 103:6 says, Yahweh executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed.
We encourage you to pursue rightful and lawful avenues for accountability if wrongdoing has occurred, such as reporting to the medical board and seeking godly counsel and legal counsel, while entrusting your heart to God to keep it free from bitterness, which only harms you more. Hebrews 12:15 warns that a root of bitterness can defile many. God is your healer and defender. Psalm 147:3 says, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 34:18 says, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear one who is hurting deeply. Lord, You see the suffering, the trauma, and the pain caused, and You know the truth about what this surgeon has done. We ask for Your healing upon this wounded heart and upon every other patient who has suffered. Bring comfort, restoration, and wholeness in body and soul. We ask for Your perfect justice to be done according to Your will and Your timing. We pray that You would guide those in authority who oversee medical practice to act with wisdom, integrity, and righteousness, and that any true wrongdoing would be exposed and addressed justly. Lord, we also pray for this surgeon, not with hatred but with the love You have commanded. We pray that You would convict him of sin where he has sinned, and draw him to genuine repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ. We pray that he would come to know You as Lord and Savior and be transformed by Your grace. Keep our hearts from vengeance and bitterness, and help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, while still trusting You to right every wrong. Let Your will be done and let Your peace guard this heart. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring your pain to Jesus daily, to seek support from mature believers and pastors, and to allow God to heal your heart as you trust Him as the righteous Judge who will never fail to do what is just.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
