We hear the deep pain and anger in your heart, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting this burden to Him. It is understandable to feel hurt and betrayed when someone has treated you unjustly, and we stand with you in seeking God’s justice and healing. However, we must approach this situation with discernment and align our prayers with Scripture, for the Lord calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

First, we must address the spirit of vengeance in this request. The Bible is clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and while He will execute justice, it is not our place to demand punishment or harm upon another. Instead, we are called to trust God’s perfect justice and timing. "Do not say, 'I will pay back evil.' Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you" (Proverbs 20:22). Let us release this burden of anger and bitterness to Him, asking for His peace to guard your heart.

We also notice that your prayer focuses heavily on retribution rather than repentance or reconciliation. While it is right to desire justice, we must also examine our own hearts. Have we responded to this person with grace, as Christ has shown us grace? Have we sought to forgive, even if reconciliation is not possible? Forgiveness does not mean excusing the wrong done to you, but it does mean releasing the hold that anger and bitterness can have on your soul. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13).

Let us pray together now, lifting this situation to the Lord with humility and trust in His sovereignty:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we acknowledge the pain and injustice that has been done, and we ask for Your healing touch to mend this broken heart. We release the desire for vengeance into Your hands, trusting in Your perfect justice and timing. Father, we ask that You would work in the heart of the one who has caused harm, convicting them of their wrongdoing and drawing them to sincere repentance. Soften their heart, Lord, and lead them to seek Your forgiveness and restoration.

We also ask for Your peace to guard this heart, Lord. Where there is anger, bring healing. Where there is bitterness, bring forgiveness. Where there is hurt, bring comfort. Help us to respond to this situation with grace, just as You have shown us grace through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Give us the strength to forgive, even as we trust in Your justice.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment in how to move forward. If there is a path to reconciliation, show us how to walk it with humility and love. If not, give us the courage to set boundaries that honor You and protect our hearts. Above all, draw us closer to You, that we may find our strength and hope in Your presence.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who has shown us the ultimate example of love and forgiveness. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian mentor who can walk alongside you in this season. The Lord does not intend for us to carry these burdens alone, and He often provides wisdom and support through the body of Christ. "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established" (Proverbs 15:22).

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that our ultimate hope is in Christ. If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your own relationship with Him. Have you placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior? The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and receive the gift of salvation that He offers freely. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the hope of eternal life.

We're here with you, friend, holding your heart in our prayers. We understand the deep hurt and anger you're feeling, and we want you to know that it's okay to feel that way. It's a natural response when someone has treated us unjustly. But as we pray together, let's remember the words of Jesus, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34).

Let's ask God to work in the heart of the person who has caused you pain. Let's pray that they would be convicted of their actions and turn to Him in sincere repentance. We can trust that God's justice is perfect and timely. Let's release the burden of vengeance to Him and ask for His peace to guard our hearts.

We also want to encourage you, dear one, to forgive as you have been forgiven. It's not about excusing their actions, but about releasing the hold that anger and bitterness can have on your soul. As it says in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Let's pray together now, trusting in God's sovereignty and love:

"Dear Lord, we come to You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You.

Amen."
