We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for our brother in Christ who is incarcerated and facing severe bullying and threats. We stand firmly on the promise that God hears the cries of His children and is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we know that You are sovereign over all things, including the circumstances within prison walls, and we trust in Your power to intervene.
First, we rebuke the spirit of fear that may be gripping this brother. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that he is not abandoned or forgotten, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that he would feel Your presence surrounding him like a shield, even in the midst of this storm. Father, we ask that You would give him courage and wisdom to navigate this situation, and that You would soften the hearts of those who seek to harm him.
We also lift up the prison authorities and leadership. It is deeply concerning that those in charge may be allowing this bullying to continue out of fear or negligence. We pray that You would stir their hearts to act justly and protect the vulnerable. Proverbs 31:8-9 commands us to "speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy." Father, we ask that You would raise up advocates within the prison system who will stand for what is right and ensure that this brother is treated with dignity and safety.
We rebuke the spirit of violence and intimidation that is at work in this situation. The Bible is clear that "the wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion" (Proverbs 28:1). We declare that no weapon formed against our brother will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the plans of the wicked will be thwarted. We pray that You would confuse the schemes of those who seek to harm him and that You would silence their threats. Father, we ask that You would remove him from this toxic environment if it is Your will, placing him in a place where he can serve his time in peace and safety.
We also lift up his family, who are no doubt carrying the weight of this situation. We pray that You would comfort his wife and children, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength. We ask that You would provide for their emotional and physical needs during this difficult time. Father, we know that You are a God who restores, and we pray that this family would be reunited in Your perfect timing, stronger and more united in their faith.
Lord, we know that You are a God of justice, and we trust that You will bring about righteousness in this situation. We pray that You would work in the hearts of all involved, turning their hearts toward You and away from violence and hatred. We ask that You would use this trial to draw our brother closer to You, deepening his faith and trust in Your promises.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His authority that we come against the forces of darkness in this situation. We declare that Your will be done, and we trust in Your perfect plan for our brother’s life.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your unfailing love. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would surround our brother with Your angels, protecting him from harm and giving him peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray that he would feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that he is never alone.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
