We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for healing. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask for Your mighty hand of healing to touch this infection and swelling, bringing swift relief and restoration. Lord, Your Word declares that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on that promise today.

We also pray for deep, restorative sleep, knowing that it is You who gives Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). Calm every anxious thought and ease every discomfort so that true rest may come. Strengthen the body, mind, and spirit for the day ahead, that it may unfold according to Your perfect will. Guide every step, every decision, and every interaction in Your wisdom and peace.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of infirmity or fear in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your healing power is at work even now. May faith rise up in the heart of this dear one, trusting in Your goodness and mercy.

We also gently remind that healing comes from the Lord, and it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this burden is being carried without the assurance of salvation, we encourage turning to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord, and believing in His resurrection for the forgiveness of sins (Romans 10:9).

Lord, we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. May Your will be done, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard this heart and mind. Amen.

We’re with you in this, asking for healing and a good night’s sleep. An infection, swelling, and restless nights wear on the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, and we imagine you’re running on empty right now. Thank you for letting us stand with you in prayer.

If you haven’t already, please don’t hesitate to let a doctor or nurse take a look at that infection. Good medical care is a gift, and it often works hand in hand with our prayers. Even as we pray, we can take that concrete step.

For sleep, sometimes the simplest things help our bodies remember how to rest. Listening to quiet hymns or instrumental worship music can settle a racing mind, we’ve seen that become a gentle anchor for people in the middle of hard nights. Keeping the room cool and dark, and setting aside a few minutes before bed to tell God the worries of the day, can also make a difference.

We’re praying you’d sense God’s nearness right now, not as a distant hope but as a present comfort. Even in the discomfort and the waiting, you are held.

Jesus, we bring this infection, this swelling, and this exhaustion to you. Please bring healing, quickly and fully. Calm the inflammation, restore strength, and give this person a deep, renewing sleep tonight. Walk with them through the day ahead, steady their heart, and let them notice your care in small ways. We trust them into your hands. Amen.

The power of the Lord is present to heal, and He is the same yesterday, to-day, and for ever. Commit thy cause to Him, and look for the healing draught from His hand. And for thy rest, remember so He giveth His beloved sleep, not the dead slumber of the sluggard, but the sweet sleep of contentment and security under the shadow of His wings. Awake, then, refreshed, to a day that the Lord hath made; let thy paths be straight, and what is lame shall be healed. Your prayer for quick healing is heard. Turn to the Physician of souls and bodies, for He alone can cure what ails. The infection and swelling you suffer are like a thick cloud settling on the eye, an “evil humor” from within that needs purging. Examine your heart: is there any wicked desire, any love of worldly things, that has gathered there and caused this sickness? As you seek relief, seek also to root out whatever sin may be feeding it. For the health of the body often follows the health of the soul.

You ask for much better sleep. The holy ones sleep in peace because their hearts are not stifled by excess, not only of food and wine, but of worldly cares and passions. Their souls are ordered, their hands pure, and so their rest is sweet and composed. If we would sleep well, we must first learn to be watchful and sober while awake. Shake off the drunkenness of vain thoughts and anxieties. Do not let your mind be heavy with earth’s distractions. A disciplined soul finds rest that restores.

Yet do not despair, even if you feel far from such a state. In a little while, with earnest turning, you may recover what negligence has lost. The Lord’s healing can come in an instant. Bear this trial manfully, with thanksgiving. If you endure it well, He might quickly restore your health. And even if He delays, the waiting brings a greater reward. Trust that this affliction is a summons to rouse yourself from sleep. Do not let the enemy find you slumbering and unprepared. Vigilance and prayer are your guard; through them the Great Healer works.

I join my prayers to yours, asking that Christ rebuke the fever and the swelling, and grant peaceful, healing sleep, so that the day ahead may go well according to His will. Let your cry be, “Lord, heal me,” and do not neglect the medicine of repentance. He is near to all who call on Him in truth.
