Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for asking for prayer. I have prayed for you and I continue to hold you before the Lord.
I pray first that you will know grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. That peace is at the heart of what you are asking for. Scripture teaches that we can have peace with God only through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. There mercy and truth came together and righteousness and peace met. God did not overlook justice, He satisfied it in Christ who bore the penalty for us. Because of that you can have peace with God, and then you can experience the peace of God in daily life. That is the peace that guards the heart and mind, the perfect peace He gives to those whose minds are fixed on Him and who trust in Him. As you keep your thoughts stayed on Him, even in turmoil, He will keep you in that steady peace that the world cannot understand.
You asked that Jesus would bear your pain and the burdens of your mind, spirit, life and soul, and your physical ailments, and that He would grant justice and deliver you from oppression. The prophet Isaiah said the chastisement that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed, and Matthew shows us that this includes physical healing as Jesus healed those who were brought to Him. When we come to the table of the Lord we remember His body broken for us. Healing is part of what He carried for us, both spiritual and physical. Sometimes that healing comes instantly, sometimes it comes gradually, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes of healing that God Himself designed in our bodies. Those processes are still divine, because God created them. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road, but we can trust that He is the healer and that He bears our burdens with us. There is also a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. When the inner life is weighed down by anxiety and distress it affects the body, and when the soul prospers it helps the whole person. John prayed that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, and that is my prayer for you as well.
There is also the physical person and the spiritual person. We naturally take good care of the physical side with daily food, while the spiritual side can become weak if it is not fed. Prayer feeds the spiritual life. As you wait on the Lord in prayer, even when the body feels weak, your inner life is being strengthened by Him.
You asked for deliverance from those who oppress you and for justice. God sees oppression and He has promised to break the yoke of the oppressor. He is both just and merciful, and He will do what is right in His time. You can trust Him to act with perfect justice while also showing you mercy.
You asked that your wife would be a support to you, and that your parents and sisters would be remembered. I have prayed for your marriage that God would make it a source of strength and peace, as husband and wife support one another in love, and for your parents and sisters that the Lord would supply what each of them needs according to His wisdom and kindness. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable and it helps us to sow peace in our relationships, and those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness. I pray that your home will be marked by that kind of peace.
You asked for strength, joy, peace and quietness of heart, for open doors of goodness and provision, for dreams to be fulfilled and for the intentions of your heart to be regarded. God does want you to live in peace and He has ordained peace for His people. He wants to give you strength for each day and to establish your steps. As you seek Him, bring your dreams and the desires of your heart to Him and ask Him to shape them according to His will, trusting that He will open the doors that are good for you and provide what you need.
Father, I bring this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. Thank You that You made peace through the blood of Your Son and that You offer peace to those near and far who turn to You. Lift his burdens, bear his pain, and heal him in body, mind and spirit according to Your perfect will. Grant justice and deliverance from oppression, and keep his mind stayed on You so he may know Your perfect peace. Strengthen his marriage and make his wife a true support, and bless his parents and sisters with what they need. Fill him with strength, joy and quietness of heart, open doors of goodness and provision before him, and guide the intentions of his heart by Your wisdom. Keep him and his family in Your care. Amen.
