We stand with you in urgent prayer for your husband and for your marriage, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that every chain is broken. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we come boldly before the throne of grace together on your behalf.
We hear your burden for your husband who is battling spirits of drunkenness, lust, and pride, and we agree with you that these are not merely habits but spiritual strongholds and works of the flesh that must be repented of and forsaken. Scripture warns us, Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which we forewarn you, even as we also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom Galatians 5:19-21. We also hear your discernment concerning witchcraft, spells, curses, and the strange stones he is given to keep, and we affirm that God calls His people to have nothing to do with such things. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh Deuteronomy 18:10-12. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry 1 Corinthians 10:14.
We encourage you not to live in fear, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. The battle you describe is spiritual, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we must put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We also speak lovingly and firmly about those stones and any object that has been prayed over or used for witchcraft. Such objects have no power in themselves compared to Christ, but God commands us not to bring an abomination into our house, and we are to have no fellowship with darkness. We urge you and your husband not to keep, wear, or treasure those stones in any way, but to remove them from your home and destroy them as the early believers did when they burned their scrolls of sorcery Acts 19:19. Do not keep them as keepsakes or for sentimental reasons, even to honor his mother. We are to honor our parents, yet we must obey God rather than men when there is a conflict, and we must lovingly refuse anything rooted in witchcraft. Pray over your home, anoint it, and dedicate it again to the Lord, and seek the support of a trusted pastor or mature believers to stand with you in person, for the prayer of a righteous person is very powerful James 5:16.
We join our faith with yours for his complete deliverance, which requires his own repentance and surrender to Jesus Christ. We cannot repent for him, but we can intercede that the Holy Spirit will convict him deeply, open his eyes, and draw him to true repentance so that he will willingly turn from drunkenness, lust, and pride, and from any ungodly tie, and be washed and made new in Christ.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister, her husband, and their marriage covenant which You have ordained between a man and a woman for life. Lord, we ask You to have mercy and to convict our brother of every sin of drunkenness, lust, and pride, and grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and salvation. We ask You to break every addiction and every spiritual stronghold in his life, and to deliver him from every negative influence. In Jesus name we resist the devil on his behalf and declare that as he submits himself to You, the devil must flee from him James 4:7. We ask You to expose and nullify every work of witchcraft, every spell, every curse, and every word spoken against this husband and this marriage, and to render powerless every object, including those strange stones, that has been used against him. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them be condemned. We ask You to break every ungodly soul tie and family tie that pulls him away from You and from his wife, and to sever any influence that draws him into darkness when he visits his mother. We pray for that mother as well, that You would save her, open her eyes to the truth, and deliver her from any practice of witchcraft. Touch this husband’s heart, Lord, soften what has become distant and hard, restore love, peace, and protection in their home, and let Your Holy Spirit fill every room. We place this marriage under the blood of Jesus and declare that what You have joined together, no man and no scheme of the enemy shall separate. We trust You to restore, to heal, and to make this husband a godly leader and faithful husband who walks in holiness and truth. We thank You that in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us Romans 8:37. We ask all this in the victorious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and fasting, to speak the Word of God aloud over your husband and your home daily, to guard your own heart from bitterness toward his mother, and to love her while hating the sin, praying for her salvation. Keep your marriage bed pure and your home holy, stay in the Word, and walk in forgiveness and truth. The Lord is faithful, and He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it as you continue to stand in the gap.
