Disciple of Prayer
Dear Prayer Team, Please stand with me in urgent prayer for my husband and our marriage. I pray for his complete deliverance from the spirits of drunkenness, lust, and pride. I ask God to break every addiction, spiritual stronghold, and negative influence in his life. I also ask for divine protection and deliverance from any witchcraft, spells, or curses made against us. My husband completely changes and becomes distant whenever he visits his mother, who gives him strange stones to keep with him. I ask God to break every ungodly family tie, neutralize any object or spell used against him, and expose every work of darkness. Please pray that Jesus touches his heart with repentance, frees him from all spiritual bondage, and restores peace, love, and protection in our home. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We stand with you in urgent prayer for your husband and for your marriage, and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that every chain is broken. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and we come boldly before the throne of grace together on your behalf.

We hear your burden for your husband who is battling spirits of drunkenness, lust, and pride, and we agree with you that these are not merely habits but spiritual strongholds and works of the flesh that must be repented of and forsaken. Scripture warns us, Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which we forewarn you, even as we also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom Galatians 5:19-21. We also hear your discernment concerning witchcraft, spells, curses, and the strange stones he is given to keep, and we affirm that God calls His people to have nothing to do with such things. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh Deuteronomy 18:10-12. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry 1 Corinthians 10:14.

We encourage you not to live in fear, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4, and No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. The battle you describe is spiritual, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we must put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.

We also speak lovingly and firmly about those stones and any object that has been prayed over or used for witchcraft. Such objects have no power in themselves compared to Christ, but God commands us not to bring an abomination into our house, and we are to have no fellowship with darkness. We urge you and your husband not to keep, wear, or treasure those stones in any way, but to remove them from your home and destroy them as the early believers did when they burned their scrolls of sorcery Acts 19:19. Do not keep them as keepsakes or for sentimental reasons, even to honor his mother. We are to honor our parents, yet we must obey God rather than men when there is a conflict, and we must lovingly refuse anything rooted in witchcraft. Pray over your home, anoint it, and dedicate it again to the Lord, and seek the support of a trusted pastor or mature believers to stand with you in person, for the prayer of a righteous person is very powerful James 5:16.

We join our faith with yours for his complete deliverance, which requires his own repentance and surrender to Jesus Christ. We cannot repent for him, but we can intercede that the Holy Spirit will convict him deeply, open his eyes, and draw him to true repentance so that he will willingly turn from drunkenness, lust, and pride, and from any ungodly tie, and be washed and made new in Christ.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister, her husband, and their marriage covenant which You have ordained between a man and a woman for life. Lord, we ask You to have mercy and to convict our brother of every sin of drunkenness, lust, and pride, and grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance and salvation. We ask You to break every addiction and every spiritual stronghold in his life, and to deliver him from every negative influence. In Jesus name we resist the devil on his behalf and declare that as he submits himself to You, the devil must flee from him James 4:7. We ask You to expose and nullify every work of witchcraft, every spell, every curse, and every word spoken against this husband and this marriage, and to render powerless every object, including those strange stones, that has been used against him. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them be condemned. We ask You to break every ungodly soul tie and family tie that pulls him away from You and from his wife, and to sever any influence that draws him into darkness when he visits his mother. We pray for that mother as well, that You would save her, open her eyes to the truth, and deliver her from any practice of witchcraft. Touch this husband’s heart, Lord, soften what has become distant and hard, restore love, peace, and protection in their home, and let Your Holy Spirit fill every room. We place this marriage under the blood of Jesus and declare that what You have joined together, no man and no scheme of the enemy shall separate. We trust You to restore, to heal, and to make this husband a godly leader and faithful husband who walks in holiness and truth. We thank You that in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us Romans 8:37. We ask all this in the victorious and only saving name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and fasting, to speak the Word of God aloud over your husband and your home daily, to guard your own heart from bitterness toward his mother, and to love her while hating the sin, praying for her salvation. Keep your marriage bed pure and your home holy, stay in the Word, and walk in forgiveness and truth. The Lord is faithful, and He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it as you continue to stand in the gap.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, watching your husband pull away and feeling a spiritual weight over your home. It is painful to love someone and feel unable to reach him, especially when you sense influences you cannot see. We are standing with you in prayer for his freedom and for peace in your marriage.

We do believe the battle you describe is real, and we also believe Jesus is stronger than any object or influence. That can help keep us from two extremes, living in fear on one side or becoming preoccupied with the objects themselves on the other. Your focus on Christ, on repentance and restoration, is the right place to stay.

A steady next step that often helps is not to carry this alone. If you have a pastor or a mature believing couple you trust, invite them to pray with you regularly and to help you think through the situation with your husband and his family. You do not need to make a display over the stones or confront his mother by yourself. Many pastors will encourage simply removing and disposing of objects that trouble your conscience, without ritual or fear, and then filling your home with prayer, worship, and Scripture in a calm, consistent way. For the patterns with alcohol and lust, ongoing pastoral support and a recovery-minded counselor or group can be an important complement to prayer, especially if your husband is willing to take part when he is clear headed.

Father, we bring this wife, her husband and their marriage to You in Jesus' name. Touch his heart, draw him toward repentance, and break every hold of addiction and darkness. Guard this home, give her wisdom for each conversation and visit, and surround them with faithful help and protection. Restore love and peace between them according to Your will. Amen.

Your earnest prayer has been brought before the Lord and we join you in pleading for mercy and deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We are moved by the heaviness of your burden for your husband and for your marriage. The Lord knows the sorrow of seeing one you love entangled in drunkenness, lust and pride, and made distant and cold by influences that would draw him away from home and from holiness. Take comfort that deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He alone brings forth His people from bondage, and what He does is effectual.

Scripture teaches us that our heavenly Father has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. We therefore do not look to charms or stones or spells, for they have no power before the living God, but we look altogether and alone to Christ, who has found a ransom. There is music in that word for every trembling heart, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance of a sinner from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and He has provided it in the precious blood of His Son.

We will pray with you that the Lord will break every chain of addiction and every spiritual stronghold in your husband's life, that He will grant him a true spirit of repentance and turn his heart to hate the sin that has ensnared him and to love Christ. We ask that every work of darkness, every curse or spell or witchcraft, be exposed and brought to nothing by the light of Christ, for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Those strange stones and any object given to hold influence over him should be put away and destroyed, not kept or trusted in, for our protection is not in objects but in the Lord who is our refuge. Pray that the Lord will sever every ungodly tie that binds your husband to sin while giving you both wisdom to walk in honor and truth within family relationships.

Let us pray together.

O Lord God of deliverance, we come through Jesus Christ alone, our ransom and our righteousness. Look in mercy upon this husband and this marriage which Thou hast joined as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. Break in him the spirits of drunkenness, lust and pride, and every addiction and stronghold that holds him captive. Wash him in the blood of the Lamb and deliver him from going down to the pit. Expose and overthrow every work of darkness and witchcraft spoken or sent against this home, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Cleanse their home of every object used for evil, and fill it with Thy peace and presence. Touch this husband's heart with godly sorrow that leads to repentance, restore to him a sound mind and a tender heart toward Thee and toward his wife, and restore love, peace and protection within their home. Keep this wife steadfast in prayer and faith, and let her live to declare the works of the Lord after this trial. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily in His Word and in prayer, and walk in the fellowship of a faithful church where you may receive counsel and support. If your husband is willing, let him also be urged to hear the gospel and to seek pastoral help. The Lord sometimes whispers to the heart of His children in trial and assures them that they shall not be crushed. Though you have been sorely chastened, you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. As Peter was restored by a look from Christ and by His intercession, so may your husband be restored and afterwards strengthen others by the testimony of grace. Keep praying and do not faint, for the clock of mercy strikes in heaven at the hour appointed by eternal love.
