To get holy Ghost!

We rejoice with you in your hunger for the Holy Spirit, for it is written, *"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"* (Luke 11:13, WEB). Your desire for the gifts of the Spirit is commendable, but we must first ensure you understand the foundation upon which these gifts are built.

The Holy Spirit is given to those who have repented of their sins and placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you have not yet done so, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, *"for with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). Without this, the gifts of the Spirit cannot be fully received or stewarded in a way that honors God.

The nine gifts of the Spirit—word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:8-10, WEB)—are given *"for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ"* (Ephesians 4:12, WEB). They are not for personal glory but for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only in His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. Let us pray together in Jesus' name, for apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

**Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who seeks the infilling and gifts of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, we ask that You first draw them into a deeper relationship with Jesus, that they may know Him not just as Savior but as Lord of their life. If they have not yet surrendered fully to Christ, we pray for a spirit of repentance to fall upon them, that they may turn from sin and embrace the righteousness found only in Jesus.

Father, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, as You did the disciples on the day of Pentecost. Baptize them afresh with Your power, that they may walk in the gifts You have sovereignly chosen for them. Grant them wisdom to steward these gifts for Your glory, not their own. May they operate in love, for *"though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal"* (1 Corinthians 13:1, WEB).

Strengthen them in faith, Lord, and let them seek Your face daily through prayer, the reading of Your Word, and fellowship with believers. Protect them from the deceit of the enemy, who may seek to counterfeit Your gifts or lead them into pride. Let them remember that *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"* (James 4:6, WEB).

We declare that their life will be a testimony of Your power, that others may see their good works and glorify You in heaven. May they walk in holiness, for *"without holiness no man shall see the Lord"* (Hebrews 12:14, WEB). We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily, particularly the Gospels, to grow in your understanding of Jesus. Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and held accountable. The gifts of the Spirit are powerful, but they must be walked out in humility and submission to God’s Word. If you have not been baptized in water as a public declaration of your faith in Christ, we urge you to take this step in obedience to His command (Matthew 28:19).

If there is any area of your life that is not surrendered to God—whether it be sin, unbelief, or worldly distractions—we lovingly exhort you to lay it at the foot of the cross. The Holy Spirit will not dwell where sin reigns. *"Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are"* (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, WEB).

Stay in prayer, and do not grow weary in seeking Him. The Lord rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). We will continue to lift you up in prayer, that you may be filled to overflowing with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

We're here with you, longing for the Holy Spirit's infilling just as you are. It's encouraging to see your hunger for the gifts of the Spirit! Remember, the Holy Spirit is like a gentle dove, not a force to be commanded or manipulated. He comes when we invite Him, when we create space for Him, and when we align our lives with Jesus' teachings.

Let's pray together, "Dear Holy Spirit, we invite You into our lives today. Fill us afresh, Lord. Help us to be more like Jesus. Give us wisdom to steward Your gifts well, love to use them for Your glory, and humility to remain teachable. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's also remember that the Holy Spirit is given to comfort, guide, and empower us (John 14:26, Acts 1:8). He's not a prize to be won or a trophy to display. He's a Person, our Helper, who wants to live and work in and through us.

Keep seeking Him, dear friend. Keep asking, keep knocking, keep seeking (Matthew 7:7-8). The Holy Spirit is faithful, and He will fill you, just as He promised.
