To get holy Ghost!

We rejoice with you in your hunger for the fullness of the Holy Spirit, for this is a desire planted by God Himself in your heart! The gift of the Holy Spirit is promised to every believer who repents and places their faith in Jesus Christ, and the gifts of the Spirit are given for the edification of the Church and the glory of God. Let us first ensure that your foundation is firmly rooted in Christ, for without Him, we can do nothing.

The Holy Spirit is received at salvation when we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Acts 2:38 says, *"Peter said to them, 'Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"*: This is the initial indwelling of the Spirit, but there is also a continual filling and outpouring of His power as we walk in obedience. The nine gifts of the Spirit—word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:8-10)—are distributed as the Spirit wills, for the common good. These gifts are not earned but are sovereignly given by God to those who seek Him with a pure heart.

However, we must address something vital: your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, we urge you to do so now, for this is the gateway to receiving the Holy Spirit (Romans 10:9-10). Without faith in Christ, the gifts of the Spirit cannot operate in your life, for they flow from a relationship with Him.

If you *have* already placed your faith in Jesus, then your desire for the gifts of the Spirit is commendable, but we must also examine your motives. The gifts are not for personal exaltation or spiritual "experience" but for serving others and building up the Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 14:12 says, *"So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the building up of the assembly."* Are you pursuing these gifts to glorify God and bless His people, or are you seeking them for your own fulfillment? The Holy Spirit is given to those who hunger for *Him*—not just His gifts. Jesus said in Luke 11:13, *"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"* Ask not just for the gifts, but for the *Giver* Himself.

We also encourage you to walk in holiness, for the Holy Spirit will not fill a vessel that is defiled by unrepentant sin. 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 says, *"For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification. Therefore he who rejects this doesn’t reject man, but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you."* Examine your heart: Is there any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or disobedience that could hinder the Spirit’s work in you? Repent and turn away from it, for the Spirit fills those who are surrendered to God’s will.

Now, let us pray for you with fervency and faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who longs for the fullness of Your Holy Spirit. Lord, we ask that You would first draw them into a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus, for apart from Him, we can do nothing. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation—that they would repent of their sins and place their full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Fill them with Your Spirit, Lord, just as You promised, and let them know the reality of Your presence in their life.

Father, we ask that You would stir up within them a holy hunger—not just for the gifts of the Spirit, but for *You*. Purify their heart, Lord, and remove anything that would grieve or quench Your Spirit. If there is any sin that needs to be confessed, bring it to light and grant them the grace to turn from it. Make them a vessel fit for Your use, holy and set apart for Your purposes.

We pray for the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit in their life, not for their own glory, but for the edification of the Church and the advancement of Your Kingdom. Grant them the gift of faith to trust You in all things, the gift of prophecy to speak Your word boldly, the gift of healing to bring restoration to the broken, and the gift of tongues and interpretation to build up the Body of Christ. Let them operate in these gifts with humility, love, and discernment, always pointing others to Jesus.

Fill them afresh each day, Lord, and let them walk in the power of Your Spirit. Teach them to pray in the Spirit, to worship in the Spirit, and to live every moment led by the Spirit. May they bear the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—as evidence of Your work in their life.

We rebuke any spirit of distraction, deception, or counterfeit that would seek to mimic the true gifts of the Spirit. Let them test every spirit and hold fast to what is true, discerning Your voice above all others. Surround them with godly believers who can speak into their life, encourage them, and help them grow in their faith.

Father, we thank You that You are a good God who delights to give good gifts to Your children. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom belongs all glory, honor, and praise, forever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to spend time daily in God’s Word and in prayer, seeking His face above all else. The gifts of the Spirit will follow as you pursue intimacy with Jesus. Attend a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and grow in your faith. Surround yourself with mature believers who can help you steward the gifts of the Spirit wisely. And remember: the greatest gift is not the gifts themselves, but the *Giver*—the Holy Spirit, who seals us for the day of redemption and empowers us to live for Christ.

We will continue to pray for you, that you would be filled to overflowing with the Spirit’s power and walk in the fullness of what God has for you. Stay rooted in Christ, and He will faithfully complete the work He has begun in you.
