This lady on Sm

Beloved of All
Was reaching out for someone to befriend her so I Dm her asking if she would like to meet up for a walk and she asked me for my pic which I find odd since only men ask for this. This felt strange cause didn't know what gender she's siding on. I know it's becoming more of the norm for people to like to post their pics on their profile, however with all that is going on these days I feel safer not to, so much has happened that I have trust issues from the past Jesus protect us. Last time I gave and gave to someone only to be betrayed recently and hope I don't see them again in our circles, amen Is.54:17

We hear your concern and share in your desire for wisdom and discernment in this situation. It is understandable to feel cautious, especially after experiencing betrayal and hurt. The world today often blurs lines that God has clearly set, and it is wise to guard your heart and mind in all interactions, as Proverbs 4:23 reminds us, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."

The request for a picture from someone who identifies as a lady is indeed unusual and raises questions about their intentions. Scripture calls us to be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16). In a culture where identity and morality are increasingly confused, it is not wrong to seek clarity before proceeding further. You have every right to ask direct questions about their intentions and even their understanding of their own identity in Christ. If they are a sister in the Lord, they should understand and respect your boundaries.

We must also address the issue of trust. Betrayal leaves deep wounds, and it is natural to hesitate in extending trust again. However, we are called to forgive, as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean we must place ourselves in vulnerable positions, but it does mean we release the bitterness and anger to God, allowing Him to heal our hearts. Psalm 34:18-19 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."

Let us also remind you that your safety and peace of mind are important to the Lord. If something feels "off" or unsettling, it is okay to step back and seek the Lord’s guidance. You are not obligated to share personal information, including photos, with someone you do not know well. True friendship and fellowship are built on mutual respect, trust, and shared faith in Christ.

We pray with you now, lifting this situation to the Lord:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your protection and wisdom, which You freely give to those who ask. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your clarity and discernment. Give wisdom to know how to proceed, and guard hearts from deception or harm. Father, we ask that You heal the wounds of past betrayal and restore trust where it has been broken. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to walk in the freedom that comes from Your love.

Lord, we pray for this individual who reached out. If their intentions are pure and honorable, soften their heart to understand and respect boundaries. If their motives are not aligned with Your will, reveal the truth and turn their heart toward You. Protect us from any schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Instead, let Your peace and truth prevail in every interaction.

Father, we also pray for godly friendships and fellowship. Surround us with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage, uplift, and sharpen us in our walk with You. Help us to be a light in this dark world, reflecting Your love and truth in all we do. We trust in Your promise from Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me," says Yahweh.

In all things, may Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to lean on His understanding rather than your own. If this individual is meant to be a part of your life, God will make it clear in His timing. Until then, walk in the confidence that comes from knowing He is your protector and guide. If you feel led, you might respond by gently explaining your boundaries and asking about their intentions, always keeping your focus on honoring God in your interactions.

We hear the caution in your words, and we want you to feel settled in this: you do not owe anyone your picture, and your decision not to share it is both reasonable and wise. When a request like that feels off, especially after a betrayal that cost you trust, paying attention to that unease is a way of stewarding the safety God has given you to care for.

Trust does not need to be given all at once. It can grow in small, tested steps, and a person who genuinely wants friendship will not pressure you to move faster than you feel safe. If you still want to see whether this connection is real, you could meet in a well-lit public place, bring someone with you, and keep the first meeting short. If the lady pushes back on any of that, let that be information, not guilt.

The wound from being betrayed after giving and giving is real, and it is okay that recovering has taken time. We are asking God to guard your heart and your steps as you figure out what feels safe.

Lord Jesus, You see the tension this friend is carrying, the desire for connection and the weight of being hurt before. We ask You to give her clear discernment about this situation and peace about the boundaries she has set. Heal the place left tender by betrayal, and keep her from harm. Help her walk forward with wisdom, not with the old fear running the show, knowing that You are near. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have done well to be cautious, and your uneasiness is not lack of charity; it is the prudence that befits the child of God. When a stranger, whose face you have not seen and whose character you cannot discern, asks for your likeness before any real trust has been earned, let the request go unanswered. You do not know whether this inquirer is a woman at all, or what design may lie beneath her words. Therefore move slowly, and do not cast your image abroad to gratify curiosity or a darker purpose. If there is any sincere desire for holy friendship, it will not press you for that which belongs to your private keeping. In evil days the sheep must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

You have been betrayed, and the wound is real. Remember that our Lord Himself was sold by a trusted friend, one who had eaten bread at His table. If Judas did that to the Master, it is no strange thing that you have met with false friends. But do not let their treachery drive you from the Lord; let it drive you deeper under the shadow of the Almighty. You have prayed for the protection of Jesus, and He will be a wall of fire around you, yet His keeping does not release you from walking with prudence. Meet no stranger alone. If you meet at all, let it be in a public place, with a godly companion near, and only after earnest prayer. Better still, seek your friends where Christ is known and His people gather in the light.

Isaiah 54:17 is a sure word: no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. That promise belongs to those whose righteousness is of the Lord, who trust in the living God and not in their own scheming. Stand upon Christ alone, and commit the one who betrayed you to the Judge of all the earth. You may ask to be kept from that company, and it is right that you should avoid the snare again, but do not carry bitterness in your own bosom. It will eat you through. Trust Jesus in the dark, and He will bring you into light.

If any would be your friend, let them first know your Savior. The Lord keep you in all your ways. Trust in Him, do good, and be not hasty to give your image or your heart to a stranger. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The hurt you carry from betrayal and the caution you feel now are both real, and God sees them. It is understandable to want to offer friendship to someone who seemed lonely, and also to feel uneasy when a simple invitation to walk leads to a request that feels strange or pressured, especially when you are not sure about the other person's intentions or identity. That unease is not unspiritual. Scripture calls us to let our love abound in knowledge and discernment, so that we may approve what is excellent and remain sincere and without offense before God and others.

True friendship in Christ is more than sharing a meal or a walk. It is a help toward what is good, a brother or sister strengthening another like a fortified city, not a bond that pulls us toward confusion or harm. For that reason we are taught to choose friends for virtue, not only for company, and to keep peace with all as far as it depends on us, without giving our hearts without reason or without testing. Even the Lord, who was daily teaching among the people, was betrayed by one close to Him, and that story is written for our admonition, so that we guard our hearts against what can lead us astray and learn to walk wisely.

In these days many people do post photos freely, but you are not obligated to share a photo or to meet quickly, especially with someone you do not know. It is wise to keep clear boundaries, to meet only in public and with others aware, to take time to learn character, and to seek counsel from mature believers in your church community. If you sense confusion about identity or gender, hold fast with gentleness and truth to what Scripture teaches, that God created us male and female with purpose, and that our wholeness is found in Christ. We do not need to affirm confusion to show kindness, we show kindness by speaking truth in love and by not entering entanglements that would harm our conscience or our witness.

I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone saves, heal the wounds of past betrayal and restore trust in Your faithfulness. Guard this heart and mind, give wisdom to discern what is profitable and what is not, and protect from every weapon formed against Your child, for Your promise remains that no weapon formed against those who are Yours shall prosper. Teach what real friendship looks like, surround with friends who love virtue and who remain through every change, and lead each step with peace. Give courage to set loving boundaries and grace to help others without being drawn into harm. May your love abound more and more in knowledge and discernment, until the day of Christ, kept sincere and blameless. Amen.
