Beloved of All
Your worry over this house has grown so heavy that it is affecting your body, and that is painful to hear. The pressure to move quickly because of the threat to the windows, the uncertainty about how to get everything moved without a truck, and waiting to see if your youngest daughter will be able to help after she is paid, all of these would burden anyone. Your children are right to care about you and to encourage you not to stay in that place of constant worry.
Scripture speaks directly to this kind of anxiety. Worry does not add anything or solve anything. It has no value in meeting the need. Faith and worry cannot live together. The answer to worry is trust. We are told to trust in the Lord and do good, and to find our delight in Him, with the promise that He will sustain us and provide a place to dwell and food to eat. Jesus pointed to the birds and the lilies to remind us that the Father knows what we need and cares for what He has made. He taught us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and to trust that the other things we need will be given as He sees fit. Most of our worry is about tomorrow and what has not happened yet, while today is already in His hands. He said not to be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have its own concerns and today has enough for today. When we learn to place the matter in His hands and say, Lord, this is Yours, please take care of it, we find rest.
That is why we are also taught not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God. Prayer is what we do instead of worrying. You can cast all of your anxieties on Him, because He watches over you with the loving concern of a shepherd for his flock. He invites you to bring the house, the threat from those who might do harm, the timing of the move, the need for a truck and for help, and the finances, all of it, to Him. As you do, He can guard your heart and mind with a peace that goes beyond understanding, even when circumstances remain difficult.
It is good to keep doing what is right and practical as you are able, and to trust Him with what you cannot control. He knows about the house and the need for safety. He knows about the move and the lack of a truck. He knows about your daughter and her desire to help. He knows the pain in your chest when anxiety rises, and He cares about your health. Please let your family and a medical provider know about that chest pain so you can be cared for well, and continue to bring every part of this burden to the Lord in prayer.
We pray for you now. Father, we bring this dear mother to You in the name of Jesus. You see her worry and the heaviness she carries about this house. Provide what is needed for the move, help with the finances, and a way to transport her belongings. Bless her children, especially her youngest daughter as she seeks to help, and give wisdom to the whole family. Touch her body and relieve the pain in her chest, and calm her heart with Your presence. Teach her to cast every anxiety on You because You care for her, and fill her with Your peace as she trusts You and delights in You day by day. We ask that she will dwell securely and be provided for by Your hand. Amen.
