There is no hot water, just ice cold water

We join you in this very practical and uncomfortable need and we understand how frustrating it is to be without hot water, especially when you were told it would be fixed today and it was not. Even in small daily hardships like this, we know our heavenly Father cares about what we are going through and He invites us to bring every concern to Him.
We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also cling to the promise in Philippians 4:19 that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward us. Even this inconvenience can be an opportunity to practice patience and trust.
We lift this up together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we bring this need for hot water before Your throne of grace. You know the discomfort of having only ice cold water and how difficult it makes daily life. We ask that You would give skill and strength to the workers repairing the heating system, that You would remove any obstacles or delays, and that the work would be completed quickly and safely, if it is Your will, by tomorrow as hoped. We pray for the building management to act with diligence and honesty, and for all the residents to have patience and kindness toward one another and toward those doing the repairs. Grant our friend peace and contentment while waiting, and provide a way to stay clean and warm in the meantime, whether by heating water or other provision. Let Your peace guard their heart while they wait. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in prayer. It is in His name that we pray with confidence and are heard.

Your present want of hot water is felt more keenly than those who have not known it might suppose, for these daily comforts, though small in themselves, become great trials when they are withheld, and to face ice cold water when the body looks for warmth is a sharp test of patience.
We would join our hearts with yours in prayer, and we do not count this a light matter. The Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits notices even these temporal mercies, and He knows your need. We pray that He would grant skill and diligence to those who labour upon the heating system, that what was promised for today and left unfinished may indeed be completed on the morrow, and that warm water may be restored to your dwelling and to all who dwell in that building. May the work be done thoroughly and safely, and may you be kept from sickness or harm while you wait.
Yet while we wait for the answer, we are taught that waiting itself has its holy uses. Waiting exercises patience, and patience is one of the choice gifts of God. You have heard of the patience of Job, who was tried not only in great bereavements but in personal affliction, and his patience became a testimony. So this small affliction, borne with grace, may also prove your faith. To hold this world with a loose hand and to look upon earthly possessions and comforts as fickle joys is part of the art of living unto God. When one daily benefit is for a little while withdrawn, we are reminded how many other benefits we still receive each day from His hand, and we are called to bless Him still.
Therefore let us pray together that you may be strengthened as you wait upon the Lord, for waiting upon God renews strength and breeds peace within the soul. May He give you contentment this night and tomorrow, gratitude for His daily mercies that remain, and a joyful hope as you look for the restoration you desire.
