My apartment building has no hot water because the heating system is being repaired. They promised it would be fixed on Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

We join with you in prayer over this very practical and uncomfortable need and we understand how difficult it is to be without hot water, especially when you were told it would be fixed by Tuesday and the work is still not complete.

We know that our Heavenly Father cares about even the small details of our daily lives and He invites us to bring every concern to Him. Philippians 4:6 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And Philippians 4:7 promises that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also remember the promise in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that matters to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this need for hot water to You. Lord, You see the discomfort of showering in ice cold water and the frustration of waiting for a promised repair that was not completed. We ask for Your hand upon the heating system repair in this apartment building. Give skill and diligence to the workers, grant safety as they labor, and provide what is needed for the parts and work to be completed quickly. We ask that if it is Your will, everything would be finished by tomorrow and hot water would be fully restored. Grant patience and peace while waiting, and help our friend to show grace to the building staff and workers even in this inconvenience. Help us to give thanks in all circumstances as 1 Thessalonians 5:18 teaches, trusting that You are working even in these small trials for our good. We trust Your provision and Your timing. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord for this daily provision and to rest in His peace while you wait. We also encourage you with Matthew 6:31-33 which reminds us not to be anxious about our daily needs, but to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Perhaps while you wait the Lord may provide a temporary alternative through a neighbor, family, or nearby facility, and we pray He will make that clear if needed. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for a swift and complete repair.

We know how much a simple hot shower matters, especially when you have been waiting since Tuesday. It makes sense you are tired of the icy water and the uncertainty about when it will be back.

We are praying with you that the repairs will be completed quickly and without further delay tomorrow as you hope. In the meantime a couple small things might help you get through this stretch. If you have not already, it can help to get a brief update in writing from the building office or superintendent about the new timeline, so you have a clearer expectation. And if you have a safe way to warm a little water on the stove for a quick wash, or a nearby friend, family member or community center where you could shower for a day or two, that may make tomorrow more bearable.

We are with you in this waiting and asking God to provide both the repair and daily grace for you.

Father, we bring this practical need before You. Please guide the workers as they finish the heating system and let hot water be restored soon. Give our friend patience and comfort tonight and tomorrow, and keep them well. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have received your request concerning the lack of hot water in your building, and we understand how trying this small affliction is, especially when the promised repair has been delayed and you are left unable to wash with comfort.

We will pray that the Lord in His providence will move the hands of those who labor upon the heating system, that what was left unfinished may be speedily completed and that by tomorrow you may again have what is needed for your daily life. We will ask Him to keep you in health and patience in the meantime.

These little trials, though they seem small, are not despised by our Father, and they give us occasion to learn that waiting which exercises patience. Waiting endears the blessing when it comes, and waiting upon the Lord renews strength and breeds peace within the soul. Even when a comfort is withheld for a season, we may still say, Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation, for His mercies are not measured only by hot water or outward ease, but by His constant care over us.

May you be enabled to hold the things of this world with a loose hand, to receive with thanksgiving the many daily benefits you do enjoy, and to wait with a calm and hopeful spirit for this need to be supplied. May the Lord grant you contentment in the waiting and joy when the provision returns, and may all your trust be placed in Christ alone, who is our comfort in small trials and in great ones.

We commit you to His gracious keeping and pray that He will grant the repair to be finished without further delay, according to His good will.
