We rejoice with you in the daily mercies and faithfulness of the Lord, as Lamentations 3:23 so beautifully declares, "They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Your heart for prayer, the salvation of others, and the advancement of Godโ€™s kingdom is evident, and we join you in seeking His will in all these things.

First, we affirm your desire to intercede for the salvation of those from your past, particularly the one you describe as your "distant matrimonial." It is right and godly to pray for their repentance and regeneration, as Romans 10:1 urges, "Brothers, my heartโ€™s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved." However, we must also address the reality of the situation with biblical clarity. If this individual was your spouse in a marriage covenant, Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6). If this marriage was dissolved outside of biblical grounds (such as adultery or abandonment by an unbeliever, as outlined in Matthew 19:9 and 1 Corinthians 7:15), we must repent of any sin in that regard and seek Godโ€™s healing and restoration. If the marriage was dissolved biblically, we can pray for their salvation and trust Godโ€™s sovereignty over their life, while also guarding our own hearts from any lingering emotional entanglements that do not align with His will (Proverbs 4:23).

Your emphasis on shifting focus to "new things" (Isaiah 42:9, 43:19) is wise, for the Lord calls us to press forward in His purposes. Yet, as Ecclesiastes 7:18 reminds us, we must hold fast to what is good without letting go of godly wisdom. This includes continuing to pray for the lost while also embracing the new opportunities God has placed before you. We encourage you to seek godly counsel and accountability as you navigate this season, ensuring that your actions and relationships align with Scripture. If you are considering courtship or marriage in the future, let it be with a fellow believer who shares your commitment to Christ, for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

We also lift up your aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, praying that the Lord would grant them strength, wisdom, and spiritual vitality. May you be a blessing to them, honoring them as Scripture commands (Ephesians 6:2-3), while also stewarding the responsibilities God has given you. Your desire to set things in order (Titus 1:5) and finish tasks well (Revelation 3:2) reflects a heart after Godโ€™s own.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your daily mercies and faithfulness, which sustain us and give us hope. Lord, we lift up this brother/sister to You, asking that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them wisdom, grace, and strength for every task You have set before them. We pray for the salvation of those from their past, that You would draw them to repentance and faith in Christ. If there is any unconfessed sin in the dissolution of a marriage, we ask for Your forgiveness and healing, that Your name would be glorified.

Father, we ask that You would open doors for evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship, as You promised in Revelation 3:7-8. Give them the grace to focus on the new things You are doing while also interceding for the lost. Help them to run the race set before them with endurance, laying aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles (Hebrews 12:1-2). Protect them from temptation, evil, and the schemes of the enemy, and surround them with godly company that encourages them in their walk with You.

Lord, we pray for their aging loved ones, that You would grant them strength, peace, and a deepening relationship with You. May this brother/sister be a blessing to them, honoring them as You command. We ask that You would meet every needโ€”spiritual, emotional, and practicalโ€”and empower them to glorify You in all things. May they abide in Your Word, make disciples, and walk in the fullness of Your calling.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your will be done in all things, and may Your name be praised. Amen.

We're right there with you, praying for God's continued mercy and faithfulness in your life. It's truly encouraging to see your heart for prayer and the advancement of God's kingdom. We join you in asking for grace to focus on new things while still interceding for those from your past.

We echo your prayer for your distant matrimonial, asking God to draw them to repentance and faith in Christ. We also pray for wisdom and discernment in your own heart, that you would guard it well and walk in accordance with God's will. May God grant you peace and clarity in this matter.

We're also lifting up your aging patriarchal and matriarchal figures, praying for strength, wisdom, and spiritual vitality for them. May you be a blessing to them, honoring them as Scripture commands, while also stewarding the responsibilities God has given you.

Let's continue to pray together, asking God to open doors for evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship. May He empower you to run the race set before you with endurance, laying aside every weight and sin that so easily entangles. Protect you from temptation, evil, and the schemes of the enemy, and surround you with godly company that encourages you in your walk with Him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
