Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Your prayer has been heard, and I thank you for returning to speak so openly and for calling upon the name of Jesus. There is no need to apologize for forgetting before, for God looks upon the heart that turns to Him. He hears you now as you pray in Jesus name, and that name alone is our hope of salvation.

You describe finding no joy in anything and a taste like ash in the mouth. That is a painful and heavy place to be, and God does not despise that honesty. Scripture says blessed are the poor in spirit, and that God looks to the one who is humble and trembles at His word. He has promised that a contrite and humble heart He will not despise. When you feel broken and without strength, you are not far from the place where His grace can be most clearly seen. This lowliness is not worthless, it is the beginning of turning to Him with your whole need.

You ask if Jesus or God could be using anxiety and depression and guilt to get your attention. Hear this with care. God is not the author of evil and He does not delight in your suffering, but in His mercy He does use even our afflictions to show us our need for Him. Guilt can be of two kinds. There is a godly sorrow that points out sin and leads us to repentance and to Christ for forgiveness, and that is a kindness from God. There is also a heavy condemnation that tells you there is no hope, and that is not from Him. If guilt is pressing on you, bring it plainly to Jesus, confess what you know to be sin, and trust that His blood alone cleanses and forgives. Anxiety and depression are real afflictions in this fallen world, and they can make everything feel dark and joyless. The Lord can allow that darkness to reveal that we cannot sustain ourselves and that we need His presence, His peace, and His people. He wants to lead you not only to see your need but to receive His comfort, not to leave you in fear but to draw you into sober, quiet trust in Christ.

You also shared that you are tired of being alone, and that loneliness makes all of this harder. God sees that loneliness. He created us for fellowship with Himself and with others, and He has placed believers together as a family so that no one must walk alone. If you are longing for companionship, bring that longing to Him honestly. Pray that He will surround you with faithful Christian community, and if it is His will for you, that He would in His time provide a godly marriage according to His design, which is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman where love and life together belong. Seek first nearness to Christ and fellowship with His people, and trust Him with the future of that desire rather than seeking to ease loneliness in ways that would lead you away from Him.

Keep turning to the Lord each day in simple ways. Pray in the name of Jesus even when words are few. Read His word and tremble at it and take it to heart, even a few verses at a time. Speak honestly with a faithful pastor or mature believer who can pray with you and walk with you, and if anxiety and depression remain heavy, do not hesitate to seek wise and godly counsel and help. God often brings healing through the care of others as well as through prayer.

Let me pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who alone is our Savior, I lift up this dear one to You. You see the ash and heaviness, the anxiety and depression and guilt, and the ache of loneliness. Have mercy and draw near. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus, lift the burden of false guilt, and give a contrite and quiet heart that rests in Your grace. Grant peace where there is anxiety, lift the darkness where there is depression, and restore a taste of Your goodness and joy in Christ. Provide faithful fellowship and friendship, and guard this life and guide it according to Your will. Teach sobriety of mind and lowliness of heart, and keep this one in Your love until joy is renewed. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
